5. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your camera.
5.1 Cleaning the Glass Cover
The camera features a scratch-resistant glass cover. Handle it with care.
- Only remove the protective layer from the glass cover after completing the installation to prevent scratches.
- If the glass cover is lightly soiled, gently blow off any dust.
- For heavier dirt, use a clean and soft cloth to wipe the surface. Do not use brushes or brooms, as their bristles can scratch the glass.
5.2 General Care
Regularly inspect the camera and its connections for any signs of wear or damage. Ensure the mounting is secure, especially for outdoor installations.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your DCSEC camera, please refer to the following common solutions:
- No Video/Poor Image Quality: Ensure the camera's video output mode (AHD/CVI/TVI/CVBS) matches your DVR's input type. Adjust the mode using the OSD button as described in Section 3.2.
- Circular Image/Fisheye Effect: This camera is designed with a fisheye lens to provide a 360-degree circular image. This is normal operation. If you prefer a non-circular image, consider a different camera model.
- Night Vision Issues: Check for obstructions near the camera's IR LEDs. Ensure the glass cover is clean, as dirt or condensation can reflect the IR light and impair night vision.
- Condensation/Water Damage (Outdoor Use): While the camera has a metal housing, ensure it is installed under a roof or in a protected area to minimize direct exposure to heavy rain or condensation, which can affect internal components.
- No Power: Verify the 12V DC power supply is correctly connected and functioning. Check all power cable connections.
If problems persist, please contact DCSEC customer support for further assistance.
