Chattanooga Primera TENS/NMES Unit with HAN Waveform

Model: 36038 | Brand: Chattanooga

1. Introduction

The Chattanooga Primera TENS/NMES Unit with HAN Waveform is a versatile device designed to provide both Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation (TENS) and Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation (NMES) therapies. This unit facilitates a comprehensive approach to pain management and muscle rehabilitation.

TENS therapy utilizes small electrical currents to stimulate nerves, encouraging the body to produce natural pain-relieving endorphins. NMES therapy delivers electrical pulses to stimulate muscle contraction, aiding in the reduction of muscle spasms, toning of weak muscles, and acceleration of the healing process.

The unique HAN TENS Waveform system integrates Dense-and-Disperse modes of stimulation, alternating between 2 Hz and 15 or 70 Hz every three seconds. This method is optimized for maximum opioid peptide dispersion, enhancing pain control.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 TENS Therapy (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation)

TENS therapy is used for temporary relief of pain associated with sore and aching muscles in the lower back, upper extremities (arms), and lower extremities (legs) due to strain from normal activities, including exercise.

  • Program Selection: The Primera unit offers 8 distinct TENS programs. Consult your healthcare professional to determine the most appropriate program for your needs.
  • HAN TENS Waveform: This unique waveform alternates between 2 Hz and 15 or 70 Hz every three seconds, designed to maximize the body's natural opioid peptide dispersion for enhanced pain control.
  • Intensity Adjustment: Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the intensity (amplitude) of the electrical current to a comfortable yet effective level. The amplitude range is 0-80 mA.

6.2 NMES Therapy (Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation)

NMES therapy is used to stimulate healthy muscles in order to improve and facilitate muscle performance, including muscle tone.

  • Program Selection: The Primera unit provides 6 dedicated NMES programs. Your healthcare professional will guide you on selecting the optimal program for muscle re-education or strengthening.
  • Intensity Adjustment: Adjust the intensity using the '+' and '-' buttons to achieve a strong but comfortable muscle contraction. The amplitude range is 0-80 mA.
