Product Overview

Setup

1. Powering the Unit

The Laney Freestyle 4X4 can be powered by the included AC adapter or by batteries.

• AC Power: Connect the dedicated AC power adapter to the "DC IN" jack on the rear panel and plug it into a suitable wall outlet.
• Battery Power: For portable use, install 8 x AA alkaline batteries or 3 x Lithium-ion batteries into the battery compartment. The included battery holder is for AA batteries. Ensure correct polarity when inserting batteries.

2. Mounting (Optional)

The unit is equipped with a 35mm speaker stand socket on the bottom, allowing it to be mounted on a standard speaker stand for elevated sound projection.

3. Initial Power On

Once powered, press the "POWER" button on the rear panel to turn on the unit. The power indicator LED will illuminate.

Operating Instructions

Input Channels

• CH1-2: These channels feature combo jacks, accepting both XLR (for microphones) and 1/4" (for line-level instruments like guitars or keyboards). Each channel has a "LEVEL" knob to adjust input gain and an "FX" switch to apply effects.
• CH3-4: These channels utilize two standard 1/4" phone jacks, suitable for line-level instruments. Adjust the input volume using the "LEVEL" knob.
• CH5-6: This channel includes a stereo 3.5mm jack for connecting external audio devices (e.g., smartphones, MP3 players). It also supports Bluetooth audio input. Adjust the volume with the "LEVEL" knob.

Bluetooth Audio Pairing

To connect a Bluetooth device to CH5-6:

1. Ensure the Freestyle 4X4 is powered on.
2. Activate Bluetooth on your audio device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
3. Press the "Bluetooth Audio Pairing" button on the Freestyle 4X4's control panel. The LED indicator will flash, indicating pairing mode.
4. Select "Laney Freestyle 4X4" (or similar name) from the list of available devices on your audio device.
5. Once connected, the Bluetooth LED will illuminate steadily. You can now play audio through the amplifier.

Effects (FX)

The Freestyle 4X4 includes built-in digital effects. Use the "FX" knob to select and adjust the level of effects such as Delay and Reverb. The "FX" switches on CH1-2 allow you to apply effects to individual channels.

EQ and DSP

The Digital Signal Processor (DSP) section allows you to shape the overall sound. Use the "EQ" switch to select between different equalization presets:

• FLAT: A neutral frequency response.
• LOUD: Boosts bass and treble for a fuller sound, suitable for music playback.
• VOCAL: Optimizes frequencies for vocal clarity.
