2. Safety Information

4. Operating Instructions

The Work Sharp WSCMB is designed for ease of use, featuring fixed sharpening and honing guides.

4.1 Sharpening with Abrasive Belts

The sharpening guide uses a precise 25° angle. Always use light pressure.

  1. Turn on the sharpener.
  2. Insert the knife blade into the sharpening guide slot, ensuring the blade rests against the guide.
  3. Draw the knife through the slot from heel to tip at a consistent speed (approximately one inch per second).
  4. Repeat this process for the other side of the blade. Alternate sides for even sharpening.
  5. Perform 3-5 passes per side, or until a burr is felt along the edge.
  6. Reduce pressure for the final passes to refine the edge.

4.2 Honing with the Ceramic Rod

The ceramic honing rod refines the edge and is ideal for serrated blades. It also uses a 25° angle guide.

  1. Turn off the sharpener.
  2. Locate the ceramic honing rod on the side of the unit.
  3. For straight blades, draw the knife through the ceramic honing guide from heel to tip, alternating sides. Use light pressure.
  4. For serrated blades, use the tapered end of the ceramic rod. Match the rod to the serration and hone each scallop individually.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the life of your sharpener.

5.1 Cleaning
