  7. Secure to Floor (Optional but Recommended): For maximum stability and safety, fix the base plate to the floor using appropriate anchors through the pre-drilled holes.

4. Operating Instructions

Follow these steps for safe and effective operation of your GÜDE pillar drill.

Power On/Off

  • To Start: Press the green 'ON' button.
  • To Stop: Press the red 'OFF' button or the emergency stop button.

Speed Adjustment

The drill offers 12 speed settings, ranging from 210 to 2500 min-1. Speed is adjusted by changing the position of the drive belt on the pulleys located under the top cover. Always disconnect power before opening the belt cover and adjusting speeds.

  1. Disconnect the drill from the power supply.
  2. Open the belt cover.
  3. Loosen the motor tensioning lever.
  4. Refer to the speed chart inside the belt cover to select the desired speed by repositioning the belt.
  5. Re-tension the motor and close the belt cover.
  6. Reconnect power.

Depth Stop Adjustment

The depth stop allows for consistent drilling to a predetermined depth.

  1. Lower the drill bit until it just touches the workpiece.
  2. Lock the spindle in this position.
  3. Adjust the depth stop collar to the desired depth and tighten its locking screw.
  4. Release the spindle. The drill will now stop at the set depth.

Chuck and Drill Bit Installation

  1. Ensure the drill is disconnected from power.
  2. Open the keyless chuck jaws by rotating the chuck sleeve.
  3. Insert the drill bit into the chuck, ensuring it is centered and seated firmly.
  4. Tighten the chuck jaws securely by hand.

Forward and Reverse Rotation

This model supports both forward (R) and reverse (L) rotation, indicated by the 'R+L' symbol. The direction of rotation can be selected via a switch on the control panel. Reverse rotation is useful for tapping or backing out stuck drill bits.

Workpiece Clamping
