Setup

Battery Installation

1. Ensure the walkie talkie is turned off.
2. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the unit.
3. Slide the battery cover latch downwards to unlock and remove the cover.
4. Insert the Lithium-ion battery into the compartment, ensuring the contacts align correctly.
5. Replace the battery cover and slide the latch upwards until it clicks into place, securing the cover.

Charging the Walkie Talkie

The walkie talkie comes with a rechargeable Lithium-ion battery. It takes approximately 3 hours for a full charge.

1. Connect the USB cable to the charging base and plug the other end into a 5V USB power adapter (e.g., mobile phone adapter) or a computer USB port.
2. Place the walkie talkie (with battery installed) into the charging base, ensuring proper contact. Alternatively, you can remove the battery and charge it directly in the charging base.
3. The indicator light on the charging base will be red during charging.

Powering On and Off

To power on the walkie talkie, rotate the Power/Volume Control knob clockwise until you hear a click and the unit powers on. To power off, rotate the knob counter-clockwise until it clicks off.

Operating Instructions

Channel Selection

The walkie talkie features a 16-position rotary channel switch. Rotate this knob to select your desired communication channel. Ensure all walkie talkies you wish to communicate with are set to the same channel.

Transmitting (PTT)

To transmit your voice, press and hold the PTT (Push-to-Talk) button located on the side of the walkie talkie. Speak clearly into the microphone. Release the PTT button to stop transmitting and listen for a response.

VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) Function

The built-in VOX function allows for hands-free communication, meaning you can speak into the radio without pressing the PTT button. To activate the VOX function:

1. Turn off the walkie talkie.
2. Press and hold both the PTT button and the MONI button simultaneously.
3. While holding these buttons, turn on the walkie talkie.
4. Set the channel to Channel 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5. The walkie talkie will then activate VOX mode.

CTCSS/DCS Subcodes

The walkie talkie supports 50 CTCSS tones and 105 DCS codes. These subcodes help filter out unwanted conversations on the same channel. If you are experiencing interference, you can program a CTCSS or DCS code to your channel. Only radios set to the same channel and subcode will be able to communicate.

Volume Adjustment

Rotate the Power/Volume Control knob to adjust the listening volume. Turn clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
