2. Safety Information

Always observe safety precautions when using any electrical testing equipment. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, injury, or damage to the meter or equipment under test.

General Safety Guidelines:

  • Read and understand this manual completely before use.
  • Do not exceed the maximum input values for any function.
  • Ensure the function switch is in the correct position for the desired measurement.
  • Inspect test leads for damage before each use. Replace if insulation is compromised.
  • Do not operate the meter if it appears damaged or is not functioning properly.
  • Use caution when working with voltages above 30V AC RMS, 42V peak, or 60V DC, as these pose a shock hazard.
  • Keep fingers behind the finger guards on the test probes during measurements.
  • Remove test leads from the circuit before changing functions.

Electrical Safety:

  • Never apply voltage to the meter when the function switch is set to current, resistance, capacitance, or diode/continuity test.
  • Be careful when making measurements on circuits with high voltage or current.
  • Always disconnect power to the circuit before measuring resistance, capacitance, or continuity.
  • Discharge all capacitors before measuring capacitance.
