1. Mounting Bracket Installation
Attach the mounting bracket to the ceiling outlet box using the provided hardware. Ensure the bracket is securely fastened and can support the fan's weight. The fan includes a slide-on bracket for easier installation.
2. Downrod Assembly
Insert the downrod through the canopy and then into the motor housing. Secure it with the provided pin and clip. The threaded 4.5-inch downrod and coupler ensure safety and stability.
3. Wiring Connections
Connect the fan's electrical wires to the household wiring according to the wiring diagram in the full instruction manual (not provided here). Use the included wire nuts to secure connections. Ensure all connections are tight and properly insulated.
4. Hanging the Fan
Carefully lift the fan assembly and hang it onto the mounting bracket. Ensure the downrod ball is properly seated in the bracket's opening.

Operating Instructions
Your Hampton Bay Mercer ceiling fan is operated by a remote control. Ensure the remote control has working batteries installed.
- Fan ON/OFF: Press the "OFF" button to turn the fan off. To turn on, select a speed.
- Fan Speed: Press "HI", "MED", or "LOW" to select the desired fan speed. The fan has 3 speeds.
- Light Control: Press the "LIGHT" button to turn the integrated LED light on or off.
- Reverse Airflow: The fan features a reversible motor for year-round comfort. Locate the reverse switch on the motor housing (usually a small slide switch).
- For summer operation, set the switch to circulate air downwards, creating a cooling effect.
- For winter operation, set the switch to circulate air upwards, redistributing warm air from the ceiling.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your ceiling fan.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan blades and motor housing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these can damage the finish.
- Blade Screws: Check all blade screws for tightness at least twice a year. Loose screws can cause wobbling and noise.
- Light Kit: The integrated LED light is designed for long life and typically does not require bulb replacement. If the light malfunctions, consult a qualified electrician or contact customer support.
- Lubrication: The motor is permanently lubricated and does not require oiling.
