3. Setup
3.1 DC Input Connection
Connect the inverter to your 12V DC battery bank using appropriate cables. For optimal performance and safety, 1/0 AWG (American Wire Gauge) cables are recommended for this 3000 Watt inverter. Ensure connections are tight and secure.
- Connect the red cable to the positive (+) terminal of the inverter and the positive terminal of the battery.
- Connect the black cable to the negative (-) terminal of the inverter and the negative terminal of the battery.
- Ensure the battery terminals are clean and free of corrosion.

3.2 AC Output Connection
The inverter provides two GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter) AC outlets and an AC terminal block for direct wiring.
- GFCI Outlets: Plug your 120V AC appliances directly into the GFCI outlets. Each outlet can handle up to 1500 watts.
- AC Terminal Block: For applications requiring the full 3000 watts to a single source, use the AC terminal block for hardwiring. Consult a qualified electrician for hardwired installations.
- Ensure the total wattage of connected appliances does not exceed the inverter's continuous power rating.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Turning On/Off
After connecting the inverter to the battery and desired AC loads, use the ON/OFF switch located on the front panel to power the unit.
- To turn ON: Flip the switch to the 'ON' position. The green LED indicator will illuminate, and the digital display will show operational information.
- To turn OFF: Flip the switch to the 'OFF' position. The inverter will power down.
4.2 Monitoring Display
The digital display and LED indicators provide real-time information about the inverter's status and performance (refer to Figure 3.2).
- Digital Display: Shows VDC (input voltage), ADC (input current), and Power out (KW). Use the 'Function' button to cycle through these readings.
- LED Indicators:
- Green: VDC in (normal operation).
- Red: ADC in (current draw).
- Orange: Power out (KW).
- Not lit: Fault info (indicates a fault condition).
- Optional Remote: An optional remote panel (Part # REMOTEHF) can be connected to the 'Remote' port for convenient control and monitoring from a distance.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and reliable operation of your AIMS Power Inverter.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the exterior of the inverter with a dry cloth. Ensure ventilation openings are free from dust and debris.
- Connections: Regularly check all DC and AC connections to ensure they are tight and secure. Loose connections can cause overheating and poor performance.
- Battery Health: Monitor your battery bank's health. A well-maintained battery ensures optimal inverter performance.
- Environment: Ensure the inverter remains in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated environment.
6. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions for common issues you might encounter with your inverter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Inverter does not turn on | No DC input power; Loose battery connections; Blown fuse | Check battery voltage; Tighten all DC connections; Inspect and replace internal fuses if necessary (by qualified personnel). |
| Low voltage alarm sounds | Battery voltage is too low | Recharge or replace the battery. Reduce load on the inverter. |
| Overload protection activated | Connected load exceeds inverter's rating | Reduce the total wattage of connected appliances. Disconnect some loads and restart the inverter. |
| Over temperature protection activated | Inverter is overheating; Blocked ventilation | Allow the inverter to cool down. Ensure adequate ventilation and clear any obstructions from the fan and vents. |
| No AC output | GFCI tripped; Fault condition | Press the reset button on the GFCI outlet. Check LED indicators for fault codes and refer to the manual for specific fault information. |
