Introduction
The Dyson V8 Absolute cordless stick vacuum cleaner is engineered for powerful and versatile cleaning. Featuring the Dyson digital motor V8, it delivers strong suction for various tasks. This model includes two specialized cleaner heads: a direct-drive cleaner head for carpets and a soft roller cleaner head for hard floors, allowing for simultaneous removal of large debris and fine dust. The whole-machine HEPA filtration system captures allergens, expelling cleaner air. With up to 40 minutes of fade-free suction, the trigger mechanism ensures battery power is only used during active cleaning.
Safety Information
- Battery Temperature: The machine will switch off if the battery temperature is below 37.4°F (3°C) to protect the motor and battery. Do not charge the machine and then move it to an area with a temperature below 37.4°F (3°C) for storage purposes.
- Recharging: To prolong battery life, avoid recharging immediately after a full discharge. Allow the battery to cool for a few minutes before recharging.
- Battery Use: Avoid using the machine with the battery flush to a surface. This practice helps the battery run cooler and can extend its run time and overall life.
- Clogs: If the vacuum enters an "on-off" mode (sucks, stops, starts sucking again), it may indicate a clog or blockage. Inspect the machine for obstructions.

Operating Instructions
Power Modes
The Dyson V8 Absolute features two power modes: standard and Max power mode. The trigger releases instantly, ensuring battery power is conserved and only used for cleaning. Max power mode provides 7 minutes of higher suction for more difficult tasks.
Using Cleaner Heads
- Direct-Drive Cleaner Head: This head drives bristles deeper into carpets to remove ground-in dirt and debris.
- Soft Roller Cleaner Head: Invented for hard floors, this head removes large debris and fine dust simultaneously without scratching delicate surfaces.

Versatile Cleaning with Tools
The Dyson V8 Absolute quickly converts to a handheld vacuum for quick clean-ups, spot cleaning, and reaching difficult places. Utilize the various tools for specific tasks:
- Mini Motorized Tool: Ideal for tough tasks, stiff nylon bristles remove pet hair and ground-in dirt from furniture, car seats, and tight spaces.
- Crevice Tool: For precise cleaning around edges and narrow gaps.
- Mini Soft Dusting Brush: For gentle dusting around the home, on delicate surfaces, or electronics.
- Combination Tool: A two-in-one tool with a wide nozzle and brush for switching between cleaning and dusting tasks.

Maintenance
Emptying the Dustbin
The hygienic dirt ejector empties dust from the bin in a single action. Position the vacuum over a trash receptacle, then push the red lever to release the bin's contents. Close the bin until it clicks securely.

Cleaning the Filters
The whole-machine HEPA filtration system requires periodic cleaning to maintain optimal performance. The filter can be easily removed by twisting it off. Rinse the filter under cold water until the water runs clear, then allow it to air dry completely for at least 24 hours before reinserting it into the vacuum.

Troubleshooting
- Vacuum Stops Operating: If the machine switches off, check the battery temperature. It is designed to stop if the temperature is below 37.4°F (3°C) to protect components. Allow it to warm up if necessary.
- Reduced Suction or Intermittent Operation: This can indicate a clog. Inspect the cleaner head, wand, and dustbin for any blockages. Clear any obstructions to restore full suction.
- Short Battery Run Time: Ensure the battery is fully charged. Avoid continuous use in Max power mode, as this significantly reduces run time. Allow the battery to cool down after a full discharge before recharging.
