3. Setup
3.1 Charging the Battery
The tool comes with a built-in 7.2V Lithium-Ion battery. Before first use, fully charge the battery. Refer to the separate charger manual for specific charging instructions. Ensure the charger is connected to a standard power outlet and the tool is securely placed in the charging dock.
3.2 Attaching/Detaching Blades
The Greenworks 2-in-1 Shear Shrubber allows for tool-less blade changes. Always ensure the tool is OFF and disconnected from any power source before changing blades.
- To remove a blade: Locate the blade release mechanism (usually a button or latch) on the tool body. Press or slide it to unlock the blade. Carefully slide the blade assembly off the tool.
- To attach a blade: Align the new blade assembly with the tool's drive shaft. Slide the blade assembly onto the tool until it clicks securely into place. Ensure the blade release mechanism re-engages, locking the blade firmly. Gently tug on the blade to confirm it is secure before operation.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Starting and Stopping the Tool
The Greenworks Shear Shrubber features a double safety protection system to prevent accidental starts.
- To start: Press and hold the safety lock button (typically located on the side of the handle) with your thumb. While holding the safety lock button, squeeze the trigger switch with your fingers. The blades will begin to move.
- To stop: Release the trigger switch. The blades will stop moving shortly after.

4.2 Using the Shear Blade (Grass Edging)
The shear blade is ideal for precise grass edging around flowerbeds, walkways, and other obstacles.
- Attach the shear blade as described in Section 3.2.
- Hold the tool firmly with both hands (if comfortable, or one hand for tight spaces) and position the blade parallel to the ground or at a slight angle for a clean edge.
- Start the tool and move it slowly and steadily along the desired edge. Avoid forcing the tool through thick grass.

4.3 Using the Hedger Blade (Shrub Trimming)
The hedger blade is suitable for shaping and trimming light shrubbery and small hedges.
- Attach the hedger blade as described in Section 3.2.
- Hold the tool firmly and guide the blade through the shrubbery with smooth, even strokes.
- For best results, trim small amounts at a time. Avoid cutting branches thicker than the recommended capacity.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Blade Cleaning and Lubrication
Regular cleaning and lubrication extend blade life and maintain cutting performance.
- After each use, ensure the tool is OFF and the battery is removed.
- Use a stiff brush or cloth to remove debris, sap, and grass clippings from the blades.
- Apply a light coat of blade lubricant (such as WD-40 or synthetic oil) to the blades to prevent rust and ensure smooth operation.

5.2 Battery Care and Storage
- Store the tool and battery in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Do not store the battery in a discharged state for extended periods. Charge it periodically if not in use.
- Avoid exposing the battery to water or moisture.
