1. Introduction and Overview
The EPAuto Spill Proof Radiator Coolant Filling Funnel Kit is designed to facilitate the refilling and burping of automotive cooling systems. This kit helps prevent coolant spills and eliminates trapped air pockets, which can cause erratic cooling system and heater performance. Its design ensures a clean and efficient process for coolant maintenance.

3. Setup Instructions
Proper setup of the funnel kit is essential for preventing leaks and ensuring effective air purging from the cooling system.
- Select Adapter: Identify the correct sized adapter and matching cap for your vehicle's radiator neck. The kit includes various sizes and threaded options (e.g., for GM, Ford).
- Install Gasket: Place the gasket in a downward position within the selected cap.
- Attach Adapter to Cap: Securely install the adapter into the correct cap.
- Mount to Radiator: Tighten the cap with the adapter onto the radiator neck. Ensure a snug fit to prevent any leakage.
- Add Extensions (Optional): If the radiator neck is difficult to access, attach the 5-inch straight extension or one of the 45-degree elbows to the adapter before placing the funnel. Ensure these are placed well into the adapter opening.
- Place Funnel: Attach the main funnel securely onto the installed adapter or extension.

4. Operating Instructions
Follow these steps for a safe and effective coolant filling and air purging process.
- Fill Funnel: Slowly and carefully pour coolant into the funnel until it is approximately one-third full.
- Start Engine: With the funnel attached, start the vehicle's engine. Keep the engine running at idle speed.
- Monitor Coolant Level: Observe the coolant level in the funnel. It should be at a low position.
- Purge Air: As the engine runs and warms up, air bubbles will rise through the coolant in the funnel. This indicates that trapped air is being purged from the cooling system.
- Add Coolant as Needed: If the coolant level drops significantly, add more coolant to maintain the one-third full level in the funnel.
- Shut Down Engine: Once no more air bubbles are visible and the coolant level stabilizes, shut down the engine. Wait for the fluid level to go lower before proceeding.
- Remove Funnel: Insert the T-shaped Fluid Stopper into the funnel's opening to prevent coolant from draining. Carefully remove the funnel (and any extensions/elbows) from the radiator.
- Close Radiator: Close the radiator with its cap tightly.
- Store Excess Coolant: Use the Fluid Stopper to allow any remaining coolant inside the funnel to flow back into its original container or a suitable storage bottle.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and proper function of your EPAuto Spill Proof Radiator Coolant Filling Funnel Kit, follow these maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: After each use, thoroughly rinse all components with water to remove any residual coolant. Coolant can be corrosive and may damage the plastic over time if not cleaned.
- Drying: Allow all parts to air dry completely before storing to prevent mold or mildew buildup.
- Storage: Store the kit in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The funnel's lid can be used to keep all components neatly organized inside the main funnel.
- Inspection: Periodically inspect gaskets and adapters for any signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace any compromised parts to maintain a leak-proof seal.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues while using the EPAuto Spill Proof Radiator Coolant Filling Funnel Kit, consider the following:
- Leaks During Filling:
- Ensure the correct adapter and cap are selected for your radiator neck.
- Verify that the gasket is properly seated in a downward position.
- Tighten the cap and adapter firmly onto the radiator neck.
- Inspect the adapter and gasket for any damage or wear.
- Air Pockets Persist:
- Ensure the engine is running at idle speed during the burping process.
- Allow sufficient time for the engine to reach operating temperature and for the thermostat to open.
- Gently squeeze the radiator hoses to help dislodge trapped air.
- Elevate the front of the vehicle slightly (if safe to do so) to encourage air to rise to the radiator neck.
- Funnel Overflow:
- Do not overfill the funnel initially; keep it about one-third full.
- If the engine is shut down while the funnel is full, coolant may overflow as the system cools and contracts.
- Always insert the Fluid Stopper before removing the funnel to contain remaining coolant.
