Operating Instructions

The Juki DDL-8700-H is designed for efficient and precise straight stitching. Familiarize yourself with the machine's controls and features before beginning operation.

Basic Operation

1. Power On: Ensure the machine is properly connected to a 110 Volt power source. Locate the power switch, typically found on the underside of the table, and turn it on.
2. Threading: Follow the threading path outlined in the included instruction manual. Proper threading is crucial for optimal stitch quality.
3. Bobbin Winding: Use the integrated bobbin winder to prepare bobbins. Place an empty bobbin on the winder spindle and guide the thread as instructed.

4. Needle Installation: Install the correct needle type (DB×1) and size (#19-#23) for your material. Ensure the needle is inserted correctly and securely.
5. Material Placement: Lift the presser foot using the knee lifter or lever. Place your material under the presser foot, aligning it with the needle. The presser foot lift ranges from 5.5mm to 13mm.
6. Stitching: Use the foot pedal to control the sewing speed. The machine offers a maximum sewing speed of 4,000 stitches per minute. Adjust the stitch length as needed, up to 5mm.

7. Reverse Stitching: Utilize the adjustable reverse feed mechanism for back-tacking and reinforcing stitches.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Juki DDL-8700-H sewing machine.

• Lubrication: The machine features automatic lubrication. Regularly check the oil level in the oil pan and refill with Juki New Defrix Oil No. 1 as needed. Proper lubrication is vital for the automatic-lubricating full rotary hook and other moving parts.
• Cleaning: Keep the machine clean from lint and dust, especially around the needle plate, feed dog, and bobbin area. Use a brush and soft cloth.
• Needle Replacement: Replace needles frequently, especially when working with heavy or dense materials, to prevent skipped stitches and fabric damage.
• Belt Inspection: Periodically inspect the V Belt for wear and tear. Replace if cracks or excessive looseness are observed.
