2. Safety Information
WARNING: Welding can be dangerous. Always follow safety precautions to prevent injury or death.
- Electric Shock: Can kill. Ensure proper grounding. Do not touch live electrical parts. Wear dry welding gloves.
- Fumes and Gases: Can be hazardous to your health. Keep your head out of the fumes. Use ventilation or exhaust to remove fumes and gases from the breathing zone.
- Arc Rays: Can burn eyes and skin. Wear a welding helmet with a proper shade filter and protective clothing to protect your eyes and skin.
- Fire and Explosion: Welding sparks can cause fire or explosion. Keep flammable materials away from the welding area. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
- Hot Parts: Can cause severe burns. Allow welded materials to cool before handling.
- Read and understand the entire manual before installation or operation.

4.2 Power Connection
The HITBOX TIG200A supports dual voltage input (110V/220V). Ensure the power source matches the machine's requirements and that the appropriate power cord and plug are used. A convert plug is included for convenience.
- Connect the power cord to a suitable grounded electrical outlet.
- Verify the input voltage switch (if present) is set correctly for your power supply.
4.3 TIG Welding Setup
- Connect the TIG torch to the 'Cutting Torch' output terminal.
- Connect the ground clamp to the 'Ground Clamp' terminal and securely attach it to the workpiece.
- Connect the shielding gas (Argon) cylinder to the gas inlet on the machine via a regulator and hose.
- Install the appropriate tungsten electrode and gas lens/collet into the TIG torch.
- Set the TIG/Stick Exchange switch to 'TIG'.
4.4 Stick (MMA) Welding Setup
- Connect the electrode holder to the 'Electrode Holder' output terminal.
- Connect the ground clamp to the 'Ground Clamp' terminal and securely attach it to the workpiece.
- Insert the appropriate welding electrode into the electrode holder.
- Set the TIG/Stick Exchange switch to 'MMA'.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 General Operation
- Ensure all connections are secure and correct for the chosen welding process.
- Turn on the main power switch located on the rear of the machine.
- Select the desired welding mode (TIG or MMA) using the TIG/Stick Exchange switch.
- Adjust the welding current using the Adjustment Current knob. The digital display will show the set amperage.
- For TIG welding, open the gas cylinder valve and set the gas flow rate using the air regulator.
- Wear all necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) including a welding helmet, gloves, and protective clothing.
5.2 TIG Welding Process
The HITBOX TIG200A features high-frequency arc ignition for TIG welding.
- Position the TIG torch over the workpiece with the tungsten electrode close to the joint.
- Press the torch trigger to initiate the arc. The high-frequency start will create an arc without touching the tungsten to the workpiece.
- Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed. Add filler rod manually if required.
- Release the torch trigger to stop welding. Allow post-flow gas to shield the weld puddle as it cools.
5.3 Stick (MMA) Welding Process
- Strike the electrode against the workpiece to initiate the arc.
- Maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed, moving the electrode along the joint.
- Continue welding until the electrode is consumed or the weld is complete.
- Chip off any slag after the weld has cooled.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your welding machine.
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the internal components of the machine using dry compressed air to remove dust and debris. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
- Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all welding cables, torch, and ground clamp for damage, cuts, or loose connections. Replace damaged components immediately.
- Fan Vents: Keep the cooling fan vents clear of obstructions to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Tungsten Electrodes: For TIG welding, ensure tungsten electrodes are properly sharpened and free from contamination.
7. Troubleshooting
This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to the machine | Power cord unplugged, circuit breaker tripped, machine switch off | Check power connections, reset breaker, turn machine on |
| No arc (MMA) | Poor ground connection, incorrect current setting, damp electrode | Ensure good ground, increase current, use dry electrodes |
| No arc (TIG) | No gas flow, contaminated tungsten, incorrect current, poor ground | Check gas supply, clean/replace tungsten, adjust current, ensure good ground |
| Poor weld quality | Incorrect current, improper travel speed, wrong filler material, insufficient gas shielding | Adjust settings, practice technique, use correct materials, check gas flow |
| Overheat indicator on | Exceeded duty cycle, blocked ventilation, high ambient temperature | Allow machine to cool, clear vents, reduce welding time |
