5. Setup

5.1 Placement

Proper placement is crucial for optimal sound performance and safety.

5.2 Connections

Always ensure the subwoofer is powered off before making any connections.

  1. Audio Input (XLR): Connect your audio source (e.g., mixer, audio interface) to the XLR input(s) on the rear panel using high-quality XLR cables. The Sub 8006-AS supports both stereo and mono input configurations.
  2. Audio Output (XLR): Use the XLR output(s) to send the processed audio signal to full-range speakers or other subwoofers.
  3. Power Connection (Powercon): Connect the provided Powercon power cable to the Powercon inlet on the rear panel, then plug the other end into a grounded AC power outlet. Ensure the power source matches the voltage requirements specified on the unit.
  4. Bluetooth (Optional): For wireless audio streaming, activate Bluetooth on your source device and pair it with the Sub 8006-AS. Refer to the operating section for detailed Bluetooth pairing instructions.

5.3 Initial Power On

Once all connections are secure:

  1. Ensure the volume/gain control on the subwoofer is set to its minimum position.
  2. Power on your audio source devices first.
  3. Flip the power switch on the RCF Sub 8006-AS to the "ON" position.
  4. Slowly increase the volume/gain on the subwoofer to the desired listening level.

6.1 Onboard Controls

6.2 Bluetooth Connectivity

To connect a Bluetooth device:

  1. Ensure the subwoofer is powered on.
  2. Activate Bluetooth on your source device (smartphone, tablet, etc.).
  3. Search for available Bluetooth devices. The subwoofer should appear as "RCF Sub 8006-AS" or similar.
  4. Select the subwoofer to pair. A confirmation sound or indicator light may signal a successful connection.
  5. Once paired, you can stream audio wirelessly to the subwoofer.

Note: Bluetooth is primarily for convenience and may not be suitable for critical professional audio applications where wired connections are preferred for stability and audio quality.
