5. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to set up your iHome iSP6 Smart Plug:

  1. Download the iHome Control App: Search for "iHome Control" in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and install the application on your smartphone or tablet.
  2. Plug in the Smart Plug: Insert the iSP6 Smart Plug into a standard 120 VAC wall outlet. Ensure the outlet is functioning correctly.
  3. Reset the Smart Plug: If the LED indicator is not blinking, press and hold the control button on the side of the smart plug for approximately 5-10 seconds until the LED begins to flash rapidly. This indicates it is in pairing mode.
  4. Pair with the App: Open the iHome Control app and follow the on-screen instructions to add a new device. For Apple HomeKit, you will need to scan the HomeKit ID label located on the bottom of the smart plug.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: During the setup process, you will be prompted to connect the smart plug to your home Wi-Fi network. The iSP6 Smart Plug operates on a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Ensure your device is connected to a 2.4GHz network during setup for optimal compatibility.
  6. Name Your Device: Assign a descriptive name to your smart plug (e.g., "Living Room Lamp," "Coffee Maker") for easy identification and control.
