Caddytek CaddyView V2+Slope Display Elements

Image 5.1: Illustration of the rangefinder's internal display, showing key indicators such as distance, aim circle, slope compensation, and battery level.

The internal display provides the following information:

  • Distance Display: Shows the measured distance to the target.
  • Meter/Yard Measure Unit: Indicates whether the measurement is in meters (M) or yards (Y).
  • Aim Circle: The reticle used to target objects.
  • Slope Compensation Distance: Displays the adjusted distance when the slope feature is active.
  • Battery Indicator: Shows the current battery level.

5.2 Measuring Distance

  1. Look through the eyepiece and press the Power/Measure button once to activate the display.
  2. Align the aim circle with your desired target.
  3. Press and hold the Power/Measure button. The distance will be displayed almost instantly. Release the button to complete the measurement.

5.3 FlagSeeking Technology

The FlagSeeking technology helps you lock onto the flagstick even with trees or other objects in the background.

  1. While looking through the eyepiece, press the Power/Measure button once to activate the display.
  2. Aim the rangefinder at the flagstick, ensuring the aim circle is centered on it.
  3. Press and hold the Power/Measure button while slowly scanning across the flagstick. The rangefinder will vibrate slightly and display the distance to the flagstick, ignoring background objects.

5.4 Slope Compensation Mode

The CaddyView V2+Slope features a patented one-step mode switching for slope compensation.

  • To Activate/Deactivate Slope: With the device powered on, press the 'Mode' button (usually located on the side or top of the device, distinct from the Power/Measure button). The display will indicate whether slope compensation is active (e.g., by showing an adjusted distance or a specific icon).
  • When slope compensation is active, the rangefinder calculates and displays an adjusted distance based on the incline or decline to the target, providing a 'play as' distance.
  • When slope compensation is deactivated, only the direct line-of-sight distance is displayed, making the device compliant with USGA and R&A rules for tournament play.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use the provided cleaning cloth to gently wipe the lenses and the body of the rangefinder. Do not use abrasive materials or chemical cleaners.
  • Storage: Store the rangefinder in its protective carrying case when not in use. Keep it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
