2. Important Safety Information
Always read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before using this battery pack. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire, and/or serious injury.
2.1 Battery Pack Safety Warnings
- Do not disassemble, open, or shred battery pack.
- Do not expose battery pack to heat or fire. Avoid storage in direct sunlight.
- Do not short-circuit a battery pack. Do not store battery packs haphazardly in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by conductive materials.
- Do not remove battery pack from its original packaging until required for use.
- Do not subject battery pack to mechanical shock.
- In the event of battery pack leaking, do not allow the liquid to come into contact with the skin or eyes. If contact has been made, wash the affected area with copious amounts of water and seek medical advice.
- Do not use any charger other than that specifically provided for use with the equipment.
- Do not use any battery pack which is not designed for use with the equipment.
- Keep battery pack out of the reach of children.
- Seek medical advice immediately if a battery pack has been swallowed.

- Do not charge battery pack when the battery is above 40°C (104°F) or below 4.5°C (40°F). Allow pack to cool before charging.
3. Setup and Charging
3.1 Initial Charge
Before first use, fully charge the battery pack. Refer to your DEWALT charger's instruction manual for specific charging procedures. Ensure the battery pack is within the recommended temperature range for charging (4.5°C to 40°C / 40°F to 104°F).
3.2 Charging Procedure
- Connect the charger to a suitable power outlet.
- Slide the battery pack onto the charger until it clicks into place.
- The charger's indicator light will show the charging status.
- Once fully charged, remove the battery pack from the charger.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Inserting and Removing the Battery Pack
To insert the battery pack, align it with the battery port on your DEWALT tool and slide it in until it clicks securely into place. To remove, press the battery release button(s) and pull the battery pack out of the tool.
4.2 Voltage Switching (FLEXVOLT Technology)
The FLEXVOLT battery automatically detects the tool it is connected to and adjusts its voltage output accordingly:
- When used with 20V MAX tools, the battery operates at 20V and provides 6.0Ah of capacity.
- When used with 60V MAX tools, the battery operates at 60V.
- When two FLEXVOLT batteries are used with 120V MAX tools, they operate at 120V.

Keep the battery pack clean and free of debris. Use a clean, dry cloth to wipe off any dust or dirt. Do not use water or harsh chemicals to clean the battery pack.
5.2 Storage
Store the battery pack in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat, and moisture. For prolonged storage, it is recommended to store the battery pack at approximately 50% charge. Use the provided protective cover (if applicable) to prevent accidental short-circuiting of the terminals.

6.1 LED State of Charge Indicator
The battery pack features an LED indicator to display the current charge level. Press the button on the battery pack to activate the lights:
- 3 Green Lights: Full charge.
- 2 Green Lights: Medium charge.
- 1 Green Light: Low charge, consider recharging soon.
- Flashing Green Light: Very low charge, recharge immediately.
