The rear panel includes the AC power input, fuse holder, an AC selector switch for different input voltages (100V, 120V, 220V, 240V), an RS232 interface for remote communication, and a cooling fan.

3.3 Initial Power-Up

  1. Voltage Selection: Before connecting the power cord, ensure the AC selector switch on the rear panel is set to match your local mains voltage (100V, 120V, 220V, or 240V).
  2. Fuse Check: Verify that the correct fuse is installed in the fuse holder on the rear panel, corresponding to the selected AC voltage.
  3. Power Connection: Connect the supplied power cord to the AC input on the rear panel and then to a grounded AC power outlet.
  4. Power On: Press the 'POWER' switch located on the front panel to turn on the instrument. The display will illuminate, and the system will perform a self-test.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Setting Voltage and Current

  1. Select Parameter: On the front panel display, use the navigation keys (up/down/left/right arrows) to select the voltage (V) or current (A) parameter you wish to adjust. The selected parameter will be highlighted.
  2. Adjust Value: Use the rotary knob to adjust the value. Turning the knob clockwise increases the value, and counter-clockwise decreases it. For fine adjustments, press the 'Number' button and use the numeric keypad to enter a precise value, then press 'OK'.
  3. Confirm Setting: Once the desired voltage or current limit is set, press the 'OK' button to confirm.

4.2 Enabling/Disabling Output

To enable or disable the power output to the terminals, press the 'On/Off' button on the front panel. When the output is enabled, the 'Output ON' indicator will illuminate on the display. When disabled, the output terminals are disconnected from the power supply circuitry.

4.3 Using Memory Functions

The DP711 allows you to save and recall frequently used voltage and current settings.

4.4 Timer Function

The 'Timer' button allows you to set a timed output operation. Refer to the on-screen menu after pressing 'Timer' for specific settings and options.

4.5 Front Panel Locking

To prevent accidental changes to settings, the front panel can be locked. Press and hold the 'System' button for a few seconds to toggle the lock function. A lock icon will appear on the display when activated.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning

To clean the instrument, disconnect the power cord and use a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the casing or display. Ensure no liquid enters the instrument.

5.2 Fuse Replacement

If the instrument does not power on, the fuse may need replacement. Disconnect the power cord. Locate the fuse holder on the rear panel, twist to open, and replace the fuse with one of the same type and rating (e.g., 100V/120V: T5A 250Vac; 220V/240V: T2.5A 250Vac). Ensure the new fuse matches the selected AC voltage.

5.3 Ventilation

Regularly check the ventilation openings on the sides and rear of the unit for dust accumulation. Keep these areas clear to ensure proper cooling and prevent overheating.
