2. Operation
2.1 Powering On and Heating
- Plug the power cord into a grounded wall socket.
- Press the power button. The indicator light will flash, indicating the appliance is heating up.
- The iron will be ready for use when the indicator light stops flashing and remains steady. This typically takes a few minutes.
2.2 OptimalTEMP Technology
The Philips PerfectCare Aqua Pro features OptimalTEMP technology, eliminating the need for temperature adjustments. This technology allows you to iron all ironable fabrics, from denim to silk, without risk of burning or scorching. The iron automatically provides the optimal combination of steam and temperature for each fabric type.

- The T-Ionic Glide soleplate ensures smooth gliding over all fabrics.
2.4 Vertical Steaming
The appliance can also be used for vertical steaming of hanging garments, curtains, or delicate items. Hold the iron vertically a few centimeters away from the fabric and press the steam trigger.

3. Maintenance
3.1 Descaling (Easy De-Calc System)
Regular descaling is crucial for maintaining optimal steam performance and extending the lifespan of your appliance. The Easy De-Calc system simplifies this process.
- When the 'De-Calc' indicator light flashes, it's time to descale the appliance.
- Ensure the appliance is cool and unplugged.
- Place a container (e.g., a bowl) under the Easy De-Calc knob located on the side of the base unit.
- Turn the Easy De-Calc knob counter-clockwise to remove it.
- Allow the water and scale particles to drain out.
- Once drained, screw the Easy De-Calc knob back into place and turn it clockwise until secure.
- The 'De-Calc' indicator light will reset upon the next power-on.
3.2 Cleaning the Soleplate
- To clean the T-Ionic Glide soleplate, wipe it with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner after the iron has cooled down.
- Do not use abrasive scouring pads or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the soleplate.
3.3 Storage
- Ensure the appliance is cool and empty the water tank before storage.
- Secure the iron to the base unit using the iron lock.
- Wrap the power cord and steam hose neatly around the base.
- Store the appliance in a dry, safe place.
4. Troubleshooting
