The Pokémon GO Plus is a compact accessory designed to enhance your Pokémon GO gameplay. It connects to your smartphone via Bluetooth LE, allowing you to catch Pokémon and collect items from PokéStops with a simple button press, even when your phone is in your pocket or bag. This device provides an easy and convenient way to interact with the game without constantly looking at your screen.

2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Assembly

The Pokémon GO Plus device comes with a clip attachment by default. To use it with the included wristband, you will need a small screwdriver to detach the device from the clip and then secure it onto the wristband. The battery (CR2032 Lithium Metal) is pre-installed and can be replaced using the same method.

2.2 Pairing with Your Smartphone

  1. Ensure your smartphone's Bluetooth is turned on.
  2. Open the Pokémon GO application on your smartphone.
  3. Tap the Poké Ball icon at the bottom of the screen to access the main menu.
  4. Tap the Settings icon (gear icon) in the upper right corner.
  5. Scroll down and select Pokémon GO Plus. If this option is not visible, update your Pokémon GO app from your device's app store.
  6. Press the main button on your Pokémon GO Plus device. It will blink a few times.
  7. On your smartphone, the Pokémon GO Plus should appear under "Available Devices." Tap it to complete the pairing process.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Basic Functionality

Once paired, the Pokémon GO Plus allows you to interact with the game without actively using your phone. It will vibrate and blink to notify you of nearby Pokémon and PokéStops. Pressing the button on the device will initiate an action:

  • Catching Pokémon: When a Pokémon is nearby, the device will vibrate and blink. Press the button to attempt to catch it. The device uses only standard Poké Balls and attempts to catch the Pokémon with a single throw. If successful, the device will blink with a rainbow array of colors. If the Pokémon flees, it will flash red.
  • Collecting Items from PokéStops: When you are within range of a PokéStop, the device will vibrate and blink blue. Press the button to automatically spin the PokéStop and collect items. The device will blink multi-color for success and shine red if you are out of range.

3.2 Indicator Lights and Vibrations

The Pokémon GO Plus uses different light patterns and vibrations to communicate:

  • Green Light (Pokémon): A Pokémon you have previously caught is nearby.
  • Yellow Light (Pokémon): A Pokémon you have not yet caught is nearby.
  • Blue Light (PokéStop): You are in range of a PokéStop.
  • Rainbow Array (Success): Pokémon caught or items collected from a PokéStop.
  • Flashing Red Light (Failure): Pokémon ran away or PokéStop out of range.

3.3 In-Game Icon

When your Pokémon GO Plus is successfully paired, a small icon will appear in the upper left corner of your Pokémon GO app screen. If the icon is grayed out, it indicates the device has disconnected (e.g., due to being too far from your phone). To reconnect, tap the icon in the app and then press the button on your Pokémon GO Plus when prompted.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

The Pokémon GO Plus uses one CR2032 Lithium Metal battery. When the battery is low, you may experience frequent disconnections or unresponsive behavior. To replace the battery, use a small screwdriver to open the device casing (the same process as attaching the wristband). Carefully remove the old battery and insert a new CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity. Securely close the casing.

5. Troubleshooting

5.1 Connection Issues

If your Pokémon GO Plus frequently disconnects or fails to connect:

  • Restart the App: Close the Pokémon GO application completely and reopen it.
  • Re-pair the Device: If restarting the app doesn't work, go to the Pokémon GO Plus settings within the app, unpair the device, and then re-pair it following the setup instructions.
  • Check Battery: A low battery can cause connection instability. Consider replacing the CR2032 battery.
  • Restart Phone: As a last resort, restart your smartphone and then attempt to re-pair the device.
