Setup and Installation

1. Compatibility Check

This mount is compatible with RMR and SRO red dot sights. It is not compatible with RMRcc, Holosun red dots, or other mini red dots that do not share the RMR/SRO footprint. Always verify your red dot's footprint before attempting installation.

2. Attaching Red Dot Sight to Mount

  1. Align your RMR or SRO red dot sight with the screw holes on the top surface of the ohhunt Picatinny mount.
  2. Use the provided smaller mounting screws to secure the red dot sight to the mount. Ensure screws are finger-tight initially.
  3. Using the appropriate Allen key, tighten the screws evenly. It is recommended to apply a small amount of non-permanent thread locker (e.g., blue Loctite) to the screw threads to prevent loosening from recoil. Do not overtighten.

3. Attaching Mount to Picatinny Rail

  1. Place the assembled red dot and mount onto your firearm's Picatinny rail, ensuring the cross-bolt aligns with a rail slot.
  2. Insert the larger mounting screws through the side of the mount and into the Picatinny rail.
  3. Using the appropriate Allen key, tighten these screws evenly and securely. Applying non-permanent thread locker is also recommended for these screws to maintain zero retention.

Usage Guidelines

  • After initial installation and after any significant recoil events, periodically check all mounting screws for tightness.
  • The robust design of this mount is intended to maintain zero under normal operating conditions.
  • This mount provides a low-profile solution for mounting RMR/SRO footprint red dots on Picatinny rails.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Clean the mount regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid using harsh chemicals that may damage the finish.

Rust Prevention

The mount is constructed from 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum with a matte black anodized finish. However, prolonged exposure to humid environments may cause rust on steel components (screws). Keep the mount properly stored in a dry environment. If rust occurs, contact ohhunt customer service for assistance.
