4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The thermometer requires 2 AAA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:

1. Slide open the battery cover located on the back of the device.
2. Insert the two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
3. Close the battery cover securely.

4.2 Acclimatization

For accurate readings, allow the thermometer to acclimatize to the room temperature for at least 30 minutes before use. This is especially important if the device has been stored in a significantly different temperature environment.

1. Ensure the protective cap is on the thermometer.
2. Press and hold the 'Head' button.
3. Gently swipe the thermometer from one temple to the other across the forehead.
4. Release the 'Head' button. The temperature reading will be displayed within 1-3 seconds.

5.2 Ear Measurement (Exact Scan)

The ear mode is suitable for children 6 months and older, and adults.

1. Remove the protective cap from the thermometer.
2. For adults, gently pull the ear backward and upward to straighten the ear canal. For children, pull the outer ear straight backward.
3. Carefully insert the probe into the ear canal.
4. Press and hold the 'Ear' button.
5. After 1 second, release the 'Ear' button. The temperature reading will be displayed.

5.3 Fever Alarm
