5. Operating Instructions
After connecting the charger to the battery and mains power:
- Select Voltage: Use the 12V/24V switch on the front panel to select the correct voltage for your battery. The digital display will show the current battery voltage.
- Select Current: Use the 4A/8A switch to select the desired charging current. For smaller batteries or slower charging, select 4A. For larger batteries or faster charging, select 8A.
- Select Mode (Automatic/Manual): The charger offers both automatic and manual charging modes.
- Automatic Mode: Recommended for most charging scenarios. The charger will automatically detect the battery type (GEL/LIQ) and adjust the charging process. It will stop charging when the battery is full and switch to maintenance mode.
- Manual Mode: Use with caution and only when necessary, for example, with deeply discharged batteries that automatic mode cannot detect. Monitor the charging process closely in manual mode to prevent overcharging.
- Start Charging: Once settings are selected, the charger will begin the charging process. The digital display will show the charging voltage.
- Monitoring: Periodically check the digital voltmeter to monitor the battery's voltage during charging.
- Completion: In automatic mode, the charger will indicate when charging is complete and switch to a maintenance charge.
- Disconnection: To disconnect, first unplug the charger from the mains power, then disconnect the black (-) clamp, followed by the red (+) clamp from the battery.

7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Charger does not turn on. | No power from mains outlet; faulty power cord; charger internal fault. | Check mains outlet with another appliance. Inspect power cord for damage. If problem persists, contact support. |
| Charger not charging battery. | Incorrect voltage selected; poor connection to battery terminals; deeply discharged battery; faulty battery. | Ensure correct 12V/24V setting. Clean and secure battery clamp connections. Try manual mode for deeply discharged batteries (with caution). Test battery condition. |
| Charger gets hot during operation. | Normal operation; insufficient ventilation; overcurrent. | Some heat is normal. Ensure charger is in a well-ventilated area. If excessively hot, disconnect and contact support. |
