  • Hot Water Dispenser: Provides hot water for americanos or tea.
  • Drip Tray: Collects excess water and coffee drips.
  • Water Tank: Internal reservoir for water supply.
  • Control Panel: Buttons and indicators for machine operation.
  • Pressure Gauge: Displays boiler pressure.
  • Cup Warming Tray: Located on top, uses residual heat to warm cups.

4. Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the machine from its packaging. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
  2. Placement: Place the machine on a stable, level, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the machine. Do not place it near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  3. Water Tank Filling: Open the lid to access the internal water tank. Fill the tank with fresh, cold water. The machine has an integrated water softener, but using filtered water is recommended for optimal taste and machine longevity. Do not overfill.
  4. Power Connection: Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet meets the machine's power requirements (230 V, 50 Hz, 1700 W).
  5. Initial Prime/Flush: Before first use, or after the machine has been drained, prime the pump by running hot water through the brew group and steam wand until water flows consistently. This removes air from the system.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Turning On and Heating Up

  1. Ensure the water tank is filled.
  2. Turn on the main power switch. The machine will begin to heat up.
  3. Wait until the pressure gauge indicates the optimal operating pressure (typically around 1.0-1.2 bar) and the ready indicator light illuminates. This usually takes 15-20 minutes.

5.2. Brewing Espresso

  1. Prepare Portafilter: Grind fresh coffee beans to an espresso fineness. Dose the appropriate amount into the portafilter basket (e.g., 7-8g for a single shot, 14-16g for a double). Tamp the coffee evenly with firm pressure.
  2. Insert Portafilter: Purge the brew group briefly by running a small amount of water. Insert the portafilter into the brew group and lock it firmly into place.
  3. Place Cup: Position your espresso cup(s) under the portafilter spouts.
  4. Start Brewing: Press the brew button. The machine will begin extracting espresso.
  5. Stop Brewing: Monitor the extraction. Press the brew button again to stop the flow when the desired volume is reached (typically 25-30ml per shot in 25-30 seconds).
  6. Remove Portafilter: Carefully remove the portafilter, empty the spent coffee grounds ("puck"), and rinse the portafilter.

5.3. Steaming Milk

  1. Prepare Milk: Fill a stainless steel milk pitcher with cold milk (dairy or non-dairy) to just below the spout.
  2. Purge Steam Wand: Briefly open the steam valve to purge any condensed water from the wand. Close the valve.
  3. Steam Milk: Immerse the tip of the steam wand just below the surface of the milk. Open the steam valve fully. Angle the pitcher to create a vortex. As the milk heats and expands, lower the pitcher slightly to keep the tip just below the surface for aeration.
  4. Heat Milk: Once the desired foam is achieved, immerse the wand deeper to heat the milk to temperature (around 60-65°C / 140-150°F).
  5. Clean Wand: Close the steam valve. Immediately wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth to remove any milk residue. Briefly purge the wand again to clear the internal passage.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Daily Cleaning

  • Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray daily.
  • Portafilter & Baskets: After each use, remove the coffee grounds and rinse the portafilter and filter basket thoroughly.
  • Steam Wand: Always wipe and purge the steam wand immediately after steaming milk.
  • Brew Group: Use a brew group brush to clean any coffee grounds from the shower screen and gasket.

6.2. Backflushing (Weekly/Bi-Weekly)

Backflushing cleans the brew group and internal valves.

  1. Insert a blind filter basket into the portafilter.
  2. Add a small amount of espresso machine cleaning detergent (e.g., Cafiza) to the blind filter.
  3. Lock the portafilter into the brew group.
  4. Activate the brew cycle for 10 seconds, then stop for 5 seconds. Repeat 5-10 times.
  5. Remove the portafilter, rinse it, and repeat the backflushing process with plain water to rinse away detergent.

6.3. Descaling (Every 2-3 Months, or as needed)

Although your machine has an integrated water softener, periodic descaling is recommended, especially in areas with hard water. Use a commercial descaling solution designed for espresso machines. Follow the descaler manufacturer's instructions carefully.

  • Prepare the descaling solution according to the product instructions.
  • Pour the solution into the water tank.
  • Run the solution through the brew group, steam wand, and hot water dispenser until the tank is empty.
  • Rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill with fresh water.
  • Run several tanks of fresh water through all outlets to ensure all descaling solution is removed.
