Key Features

Setup

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the snap gage from its packaging. Inspect for any visible damage.
  2. Battery Installation: The device typically comes with a battery installed or requires one. If not installed, locate the battery compartment (usually on the back or side of the display unit), open it, and insert the correct battery type (e.g., CR2032) with the correct polarity.
  3. Cleaning: Before first use, gently wipe the measuring anvils with a clean, lint-free cloth. Ensure no dust or debris is present on the measuring surfaces.
  4. Environmental Conditions: Operate the snap gage in a stable environment, avoiding extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight, which can affect accuracy.

Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the ON button to turn on the device. The display will illuminate and show a reading.
  2. Unit Selection: Press the in/mm button to switch between inch and millimeter units as required. The selected unit will be indicated on the display.
  3. Zero Setting:
    • Ensure the measuring anvils are clean and free of debris.
    • Gently close the anvils until they make contact.
    • Press the ZERO button. The display should now read 0.000 (or 0.00 in mm). If it does not, repeat the process.
  4. Taking a Measurement:
    • Open the measuring anvils wider than the object to be measured.
    • Position the object between the anvils.
    • Release the anvils gently so they make firm contact with the object. The spring mechanism ensures consistent measuring force.
    • Read the measurement directly from the digital display.
  5. Power Off: Press the OFF button to turn off the device when not in use to conserve battery life. The device may also have an auto-off feature.
