4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Remove the battery compartment cover located on the back of the unit.
- Insert 2 x AAA alkaline or lithium batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -).
- Replace the battery compartment cover.
Note: Lithium batteries are recommended for use in low-temperature conditions.
4.2 Placement
The sensor is designed for indoor use. For accurate readings, consider the following:
- Place the sensor away from direct sunlight, heat sources (e.g., heaters, vents), and extreme temperature fluctuations.
- Ensure good air circulation around the sensor.
- If pairing with another AcuRite device, place the sensor within the wireless range of the receiving unit.

5. Operation
5.1 Reading the Display
The sensor's LCD display shows the current temperature and humidity. The display updates approximately every 16 seconds.

- Temperature: Displayed in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
- Humidity: Displayed as a percentage (%).
- Humidity Level Icon: A house icon with 'OK', 'HIGH', or 'LOW' indicates the current humidity comfort level.
- Trend Arrows: Small arrows next to temperature and humidity indicate if the readings are rising, falling, or stable. An upward arrow means rising, a downward arrow means falling, and a horizontal arrow means stable.
- Wireless Signal Indicator: Shows the strength of the wireless signal if the sensor is paired with a compatible AcuRite display or smartHUB.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Battery Replacement
When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries. Follow the steps in section 4.1 for battery installation. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries for optimal performance.
6.2 Cleaning
To clean the unit, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
