1. Introduction

The AcuRite 06044M Wireless Temperature and Humidity Monitor Sensor is designed to provide accurate indoor temperature and humidity readings. This compact device features an integrated display and can function as a standalone monitor or wirelessly transmit data to compatible AcuRite displays or the AcuRite smartHUB (sold separately) for remote monitoring.

3. Features

Wireless, indoor thermometer/hygrometer combination for accurate temperature and humidity measurement.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

Remove the battery compartment cover located on the back of the unit.
Insert 2 x AAA alkaline or lithium batteries into the battery compartment. Ensure correct polarity (+ and -).
Replace the battery compartment cover.

Note: Lithium batteries are recommended for use in low-temperature conditions.

4.2 Placement

The sensor is designed for indoor use. For accurate readings, consider the following:

Place the sensor away from direct sunlight, heat sources (e.g., heaters, vents), and extreme temperature fluctuations.
Ensure good air circulation around the sensor.
If pairing with another AcuRite device, place the sensor within the wireless range of the receiving unit.

5. Operation

5.1 Reading the Display

The sensor's LCD display shows the current temperature and humidity. The display updates approximately every 16 seconds.

Temperature: Displayed in degrees Fahrenheit (°F) or Celsius (°C).
Humidity: Displayed as a percentage (%).
Humidity Level Icon: A house icon with 'OK', 'HIGH', or 'LOW' indicates the current humidity comfort level.
Trend Arrows: Small arrows next to temperature and humidity indicate if the readings are rising, falling, or stable. An upward arrow means rising, a downward arrow means falling, and a horizontal arrow means stable.
Wireless Signal Indicator: Shows the strength of the wireless signal if the sensor is paired with a compatible AcuRite display or smartHUB.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries. Follow the steps in section 4.1 for battery installation. Always use fresh, high-quality batteries for optimal performance.

6.2 Cleaning

To clean the unit, wipe it with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.

7. Troubleshooting

Problem	Solution
No display or intermittent readings	Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity. Replace old or weak batteries with fresh, high-quality AAA batteries. Remove batteries, wait 30 seconds, then reinsert to reset the unit.
Inaccurate temperature/humidity readings	Ensure the sensor is not in direct sunlight or near heat/cold sources. Allow the unit to stabilize for at least 20 minutes after initial setup or relocation. Verify that the sensor is placed in an area with good air circulation.
No wireless signal (if paired)	Ensure the sensor is within range of the compatible AcuRite display or smartHUB. Reduce obstructions between the sensor and the receiving unit (e.g., thick walls, large metal objects). Check for sources of interference (e.g., other wireless devices, electronics).
