Installation

Proper installation ensures accurate readings and device longevity. Follow these steps carefully:

1. Mounting the Meter

The RL-TM003A offers two primary mounting options:

  • Stick-on Mounting: Clean the desired mounting surface thoroughly. Remove the protective film from the included double-sided tape and firmly press the meter onto the surface.
  • Screw-on Mounting: Use the provided screws and nuts to secure the meter to a suitable flat surface. Ensure the mounting holes align and the screws are tightened securely.

2. Connecting the Temperature Sensor

The temperature sensor must be correctly attached to the engine to measure temperature accurately. The specific method may vary depending on your engine type:

  • Typically, the sensor is attached to a metal part of the engine that accurately reflects its operating temperature, such as a cylinder head bolt or a cooling line.
  • Ensure the sensor makes good contact with the engine surface for optimal thermal transfer.
  • Route the sensor cable away from moving parts and high-heat areas to prevent damage. Secure it with cable ties if necessary.
