Setup and Installation

Mounting Considerations:

Identify Mounting Location: Determine the best location on your machine (e.g., router table fence, planer bed, milling machine axis) where the linear scale can move freely and parallel to the desired measurement axis.
Prepare Surfaces: Ensure mounting surfaces are clean, flat, and free of debris.
Attach Linear Scale: Securely attach the linear scale to one part of your machine. The aluminum rule can be cut to length if necessary, but ensure the cutting process does not damage the measurement track.
Attach Display Unit: Mount the display unit using the provided brackets. The magnetic back allows for flexible positioning on ferrous surfaces. Ensure the display is easily visible and accessible.
Connect Cable: Plug the 76-inch cable from the linear scale's sensor block into the display unit. Ensure a secure connection.
Power Supply: The unit requires 2 Lithium Metal batteries. Insert them into the battery compartment. An optional AC adapter can be used via the AC power port (sold separately).
Test Movement: Manually move the machine part to which the scale is attached to ensure smooth, unobstructed travel and that the sensor block reads accurately across the entire range.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation:

Power On/Off: Press the Power button (red circle with line) to turn the unit on or off.
Zero Setting: Move the machine part to your desired starting point. Press the ZERO button to set the current position as zero. This allows for relative measurements from any point.
Unit Conversion: Press the mm/in/F button to cycle through measurement units: millimeters (mm), inches (in), and fractions (F).
Hold Function: Press the Hold button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.

Advanced Functions:

Preset Function: The EZ-VIEW PLUS features a PRESET function. Press the Preset button to enter a specific value at the current position. This is useful for setting a known reference point other than zero. Follow the on-screen prompts to input the desired value.
Fractional Resolution Adjustment: The fractional resolution can be set to 1/32, 1/64, or 1/128. Refer to the display unit's menu or specific button combinations (often involving the SET button) for this adjustment.
Data Output: The unit has a data output port. A separate data cable (not included) is required to connect the DRO to a computer or data logger for recording measurements.

Cleaning: Keep the linear scale and sensor block clean and free of dust, chips, and lubricants. Use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or solvents that could damage the display or scale.
Battery Replacement: When the display indicates low battery, replace the 2 Lithium Metal batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation and prevent data loss.
Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect the connecting cable for any signs of wear, cuts, or damage. A damaged cable can lead to intermittent readings or complete failure.
Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the unit in a clean, dry environment, away from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight.

Troubleshooting
