Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop User Manual
Model: 9600LS/BT-200DZ
Brand: Duxtop
Introduction
The Duxtop Portable Induction Cooktop is a versatile and energy-efficient appliance designed for modern kitchens. It utilizes induction technology to heat cookware directly, offering precise temperature control and rapid heating. This manual provides essential information for safe and effective use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your cooktop.
Key Features
- PORTABLE INDUCTION BURNER: Duxtop induction cooktop uses 110/120 V 15 amp electrical outlet–standard in all North American homes. ETL listed and built to North American electrical standards. It is lightweight and compact for easy handling and storage.
- Choose from 20 preset power levels (100 to 1800 W) and 20 preset temperature level settings (100 °F to 460 °F). With an 83% energy efficiency, induction burner is more efficient than traditional gas or electric stoves.
- DIGITAL LCD SENSOR: Touch control panel: child safety lock keeps the cooking and timer settings from being accidentally changed once they have been set; fast boil button; keep warm button (for 1-30 minutes at 140 °F); up to 10-hour timer button.
- Induction stoves rely on cookware to heat, so it’s essential to choose magnetic bottom cookware with a minimum diameter of 5 inches. Auto-pan detection will shut off automatically after 60 seconds if no cookware, or the incorrect cookware is detected.
- Although induction itself is a noiseless process, there may be high pitched sounds from the cookware due to multiple layers of metals sandwiched together. Please allow the induction cooker to cool down before cleaning.
Setup
Unpacking and Placement
Carefully remove the cooktop from its packaging. Place the unit on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. The cooktop operates on a standard 110/120V, 15-amp electrical outlet.
Compatible Cookware
Induction cooktops require cookware with a magnetic bottom. To test compatibility, place a household magnet on the bottom of your pot or pan. If the magnet sticks securely, the cookware is induction compatible. The minimum diameter for compatible cookware is 5 inches. The cooktop features auto-pan detection and will shut off if no cookware or incorrect cookware is detected after 60 seconds.

This image illustrates how to check for induction compatibility. A magnet will firmly stick to the bottom of compatible cookware, indicating it has the necessary magnetic properties for induction heating. Incompatible cookware, such as aluminum or glass, will not attract the magnet.
Operating Instructions
Control Panel Overview
The Duxtop Induction Cooktop features an intuitive LCD sensor touch control panel.

This diagram highlights the key features of the cooktop's control panel: 1. All glass panel for easy cleanup, 2. Menu Button to switch between power and temperature modes, 3. Keep Warm button (pre-set for 30 minutes at 140°F), 4. Boil Button (automatically sets to 10 minutes at power level 10), 5. Timer Button (cooking time from 1 minute to 10 hours), and 6. Child Safety Lock Button (locks all buttons except ON/OFF).
Power Mode vs. Temperature Mode
The cooktop offers two primary cooking modes: Power Mode and Temperature Mode.

This image illustrates the difference between Power Mode and Temperature Mode. In Power Mode, you select from 20 preset power levels (100W to 1800W) for tasks like boiling water or cooking sauces, where consistent heat is desired. In Temperature Mode, you select from 20 preset temperature levels (100°F to 460°F), ideal for browning or frying, where precise temperature control prevents burning.
Child Safety Lock
Activate the child safety lock to prevent accidental changes to cooking and timer settings. Only the ON/OFF button remains active when the lock is engaged.
Timer Function
The integrated timer allows you to set cooking durations from 1 minute up to 10 hours. The cooktop will automatically shut off once the timer expires.

This graphic highlights the 10-hour timer function, showing a pot on the cooktop with a timer icon and an alarm clock, indicating the extended cooking duration capability.

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Duxtop Induction Cooktop, regular cleaning is essential.
- Always allow the cooktop to cool down completely before cleaning.

- For stubborn stains, a non-abrasive cooktop cleaner specifically designed for glass surfaces can be used.
- Ensure the unit is completely dry before plugging it back in or storing it.
- The fan inside the cooktop will continue to run for a short period after use to cool internal components. Do not unplug the unit until the fan has stopped.
