Setup and Installation
Follow these steps carefully for optimal adhesion and performance. Ensure the surface is clean and dry before application.
- Clean Surface: Clean the surface with rubbing alcohol. Wipe gently and let it dry completely. Do not use household cleaners.
- Prepare Strip: Remove the red liner from the Command Adhesive Strip. Press the adhesive firmly onto the back of the hook.
- Apply Hook to Wall: Remove the black liner from the strip. Press the hook firmly to the wall for 10 seconds.
- Ensure Adhesion: To ensure the adhesive holds strongly, slide the hook up and off the mounting base.
- Press Base Firmly: Press the mounting base firmly for 30 seconds.
- Wait Before Use: Slide the hook back on. Wait 1 hour before hanging any items on the hook. This allows the adhesive to reach maximum strength.

Operating and Usage
Once installed, your Command Medium Wire Hooks are ready for use.
- Weight Capacity: Each medium wire hook is designed to hold items weighing up to 3 pounds (1.3 kg). Do not exceed this weight limit to prevent the hook from detaching or damaging the surface.
- Item Placement: Hang items securely on the wire hook. The wire toggle feature allows for flexible hanging of various objects like keys, small tools, or lightweight decorations.
- Indoor Use: These hooks are recommended for indoor use only.
Maintenance
Command hooks require minimal maintenance.
- Cleaning: If necessary, gently wipe the hook with a damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemical cleaners, as they may affect the plastic material or the adhesive.
- Re-use: The hooks themselves are reusable with Command Medium Refill Strips. Do not attempt to re-use old adhesive strips.
Removal Instructions
To remove the Command hook cleanly and without damage, follow these steps precisely. Do not pull the hook straight off the wall.
- Slide Hook Off: Slide the hook up and off the mounting base.
- Gently Hold Base: Gently hold the top of the mounting base in place. Do not press it against the wall.
- Stretch Strip Slowly: Slowly stretch the adhesive strip straight down along the wall. Stretch the strip at least 12 inches (30 cm) until the base releases from the wall. Keep your hand against the wall to prevent the hook from flying off.
