Setup: Battery Installation

The Hape Battery Powered Train requires 2 AAA batteries (not included) for operation. Follow these steps to install the batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the train engine.
2. Using a small Phillips head screwdriver, carefully unscrew the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert 2 new AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

Operating Instructions

To operate your Hape Battery Powered Train, follow these simple steps:

1. Place the train engine on a compatible wooden railway track.
2. Locate the control switch on the top of the engine.
3. Slide the switch forward to make the train move forward. The front light will illuminate.
4. Slide the switch backward to make the train move in reverse. The rear light will illuminate.
5. To stop the train, slide the switch to the center (off) position.
6. Use the magnetic connectors at the front and rear of the engine to attach other Hape Wooden Railway engines, cargo cars, or vehicles.
