1. Introduction

The Märklin 60657 Mobile Station is a digital hand control unit designed to enhance your model railway experience. It allows for precise control of locomotives and magnetic items within your Märklin digital system. 2. Safety Information

3. Setup

To connect your Märklin 60657 Mobile Station, you will need a compatible connection box. The following connection boxes are required:

  • For Track 1: Connection box 60114 or 60112.
  • For H0: Connection box 60116 or 60113.

The Mobile Station requires a 1.9 A power part, which is integrated into the optionally available track box (e.g., 60114 or 60112/60116 or 60113).

  1. Ensure your model railway system is powered off before making any connections.
  2. Connect the Mobile Station (60657) to the appropriate connection box (e.g., 60114 or 60116).
  3. Connect the connection box to your model railway track system.
  4. Power on your model railway system. The Mobile Station display should illuminate.

Up to two Mobile Stations (60657) can be connected independently to the track box for multi-user operation.

4. Operating Instructions

The Mobile Station provides intuitive control over your digital model railway.

4.1. Locomotive Control

You can control up to 11 locomotives with direct access. Locomotives can be selected from the integrated Märklin digital locomotive database or by entering their digital addresses.

  • Selecting Locomotives: Use the navigation buttons or the rotary knob to browse and select locomotives from the database.
  • Driving Locomotives: Use the large red rotary knob to control the speed and direction of the selected locomotive.
  • Locomotive Functions: The Mobile Station supports 16 locomotive functions. These functions are displayed on the screen with self-explanatory pictograms for mfx locomotives or when selected from the digital locomotive database. Use the function buttons to activate/deactivate these functions (e.g., lights, sound).

4.2. Magnetic Item Control

The Mobile Station allows you to switch up to 320 magnetic items (e.g., turnouts, signals) in Motorola and DCC formats.

  • Navigate to the magnetic item control menu.
  • Select the desired magnetic item.
  • Use the appropriate buttons to switch its state (e.g., turnout left/right, signal red/green).

4.3. Stop Function

Press the red illuminated STOP button to immediately halt all controlled locomotives on the track.

4.4. Central Station Integration

When operating the Mobile Station with a Central Station (60216, 60226, and 60213-60215), the Mobile Station can utilize the Central Station's settings, including its full log list and all magnetic items from the Central Station keyboard with their designations.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Märklin 60657 Mobile Station, follow these general maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the unit. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents, as they may damage the surface.
