Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your filter pump:

  1. Positioning the Pump: Place the filter pump on a firm, level surface near your pool. Ensure it is at least 2 meters (6.5 feet) away from the pool edge and protected from direct sunlight and rain.
  2. Connecting Hoses:
    • Connect one end of a hose to the pump's inlet port (marked "IN" or with an arrow pointing towards the pump).
    • Connect the other end of this hose to the pool's lower water outlet (suction) fitting.
    • Connect the second hose to the pump's outlet port (marked "OUT" or with an arrow pointing away from the pump).
    • Connect the other end of this hose to the pool's upper water inlet (return) fitting.
    • Secure all hose connections with the provided clamps, ensuring they are tight to prevent leaks. The connections are designed for a diameter of approximately 42 mm.
  3. Installing the Filter Cartridge:
    • Unscrew the top cover of the filter pump.
    • Insert the Type D filter cartridge into the pump housing.
    • Replace the top cover and tighten it securely.
  4. Priming the Pump:
    • Ensure the pool is filled with water to the appropriate level.
    • Open any air release valves on the pump or hoses to allow air to escape as water fills the system.
    • Once water flows steadily from the air release valve, close it.
  5. Power Connection: Connect the transformer to the pump and then plug the transformer into a grounded electrical outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI).

Operating Instructions

Once the pump is properly set up and primed:

  1. Starting the Pump: Plug the transformer into the GFCI-protected electrical outlet. The pump will begin to circulate water.
  2. Run Time: Operate the pump for a sufficient duration each day to ensure all pool water is filtered. The recommended run time varies based on pool size and usage, typically 8-12 hours per day.
  3. Stopping the Pump: To turn off the pump, simply unplug the transformer from the electrical outlet.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and efficiency of your filter pump.

  1. Cleaning the Filter Cartridge:
    • Disconnect the pump from the power supply.
    • Close the pool's inlet and outlet valves (if applicable) to prevent water flow.
    • Unscrew the top cover of the filter pump.
    • Remove the Type D filter cartridge.
    • Rinse the cartridge thoroughly with a garden hose to remove debris. Do not use a high-pressure washer as it can damage the filter material.
    • If the cartridge remains dirty or damaged after rinsing, replace it with a new Type D filter cartridge.
    • Reinsert the clean or new cartridge, replace the top cover, and tighten securely.
    • Open pool valves and reconnect power.
  2. Frequency: Clean the filter cartridge every few days, or more frequently depending on pool usage and water conditions. Replace the cartridge every 2-4 weeks, or when it becomes visibly worn or clogged.
  3. Winterization: Before winter, disconnect the pump, drain all water from it, and store it in a dry, frost-free location.
