Setup

1. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the clock.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert 2 x AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover.

Upon battery insertion, the clock will automatically begin searching for the radio signal.

2. Initial Radio Signal Reception

The clock is designed to automatically set itself by receiving the MSF UK atomic clock radio timing signal. This process may take a few minutes to several hours depending on your location and environmental conditions.

  • Place the clock near a window, away from electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • Ensure the clock is in an open area for optimal signal reception.
  • A radio signal icon will appear on the display once the signal is successfully received and synchronized.

3. Placement Options

  • Table Standing: Extend the integrated stand on the back of the clock to place it on any flat surface.
  • Wall Mounting: Use the keyhole slot on the back of the clock to hang it securely on a wall.

Operating Instructions

The Youshiko YC8021 clock is designed for automatic operation once the radio signal is received. However, some settings can be adjusted manually.

1. Time Display

  • The clock displays time in hours, minutes, and seconds.
  • To switch between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour formats, press the SET button briefly.

2. Date and Day Display

  • The display shows the month, date, and day of the week.
  • This information is automatically updated via the radio signal.

3. Temperature Display

  • The clock displays the indoor temperature.
  • To switch between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉), press the DOWN (▼) button briefly.

4. Alarm Function

  1. Setting the Alarm:
    • Press the ALARM button once to display the current alarm time.
    • Press and hold the ALARM button until the alarm hour starts flashing.
    • Use the UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) buttons to adjust the hour.
    • Press ALARM again to set the minutes, then use UP (▲) or DOWN (▼) to adjust.
    • Press ALARM to confirm and exit alarm setting mode.
  2. Activating/Deactivating Alarm:
    • Press the ALARM button briefly to toggle the alarm on or off. An alarm icon will appear on the display when activated.
  3. Snooze Function:
    • When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE button to temporarily stop the alarm. It will sound again after approximately 5 minutes.
    • To stop the alarm completely, press any other button (e.g., ALARM, SET).

Maintenance

1. Battery Replacement

When the display dims or the clock stops functioning, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in the "Setup" section.

  • Always replace both AA batteries at the same time.
  • Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.

2. Cleaning

  • Wipe the clock's surface with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or chemical solvents, as these may damage the display or casing.
