- Thread the adjustable feet (A, Figure 2) into the stand legs (B, Figure 2). A flat spot on the shaft accommodates a wrench. Thread a 5/16 hex nut (C, Figure 2) onto the shaft, leaving it loose.
- Mount each leg to the lathe bed using four 5/16"-18 x 1-1/2" hex socket cap screws (D, Figure 2).
- Repeat the process for the other leg.
- Adjust the feet to ensure the lathe rests evenly on the floor, then tighten the nuts securely.
- Reinstall the headstock, tailstock, and tool rest.
Stand Shelf
An optional shelf can be constructed to fit between the stand legs, as shown in Figure 3. This shelf is useful for storing lathe accessories or adding sandbags for extra weight. The shelf requires two 2x4s, each 55-3/4" long, and two pieces of plywood, each 27-13/16" x 17-1/2". Assemble the plywood between the 2x4 supports using screws.
