Setup
1. Charging the Speaker
Before first use, fully charge your JBL Clip 2. Connect the provided Micro USB cable to the charging port on the speaker and to a USB power source. The LED indicator will show charging status. A full charge takes approximately 2.5 hours.
2. Power On/Off
Press the power button located on the side of the speaker to turn it on or off. You will hear an audible tone indicating the power status.
3. Bluetooth Pairing
- Turn on your JBL Clip 2 speaker.
- Press the Bluetooth button on the speaker. The LED indicator will flash blue, indicating it's in pairing mode.
- On your smartphone or Bluetooth-enabled device, go to the Bluetooth settings and select "JBL Clip 2" from the list of available devices.
- Once connected, the LED indicator will turn solid blue, and you will hear a confirmation tone.

4. Wired Connection (Auxiliary Input)
The JBL Clip 2 features an integrated 3.5mm audio cable. Unwind the cable from its storage slot on the back of the speaker and plug it into the headphone jack of your audio device. The speaker will automatically switch to auxiliary input mode.

Operating the Speaker
1. Music Playback and Volume Control
Once connected via Bluetooth or auxiliary cable, you can control music playback and volume directly from your connected device or using the dedicated buttons on the JBL Clip 2. Use the '+' button to increase volume and the '-' button to decrease volume.
2. Speakerphone Functionality
The JBL Clip 2 has a built-in microphone, allowing you to answer calls directly through the speaker. When a call comes in, press the phone icon button to answer. Press it again to end the call.
3. Daisy Chain Feature (JBL Connect)
You can wirelessly link two JBL Clip 2 speakers together to amplify your listening experience. To do this, ensure both speakers are powered on and not connected to any device. Press the JBL Connect button on both speakers simultaneously to pair them. Once connected, they will play audio in stereo.
4. Portability with Carabiner
The integrated aluminum carabiner allows you to easily clip the JBL Clip 2 to your backpack, belt loop, or any secure attachment point, making it highly portable for outdoor adventures.

Maintenance
1. Waterproof Care
The JBL Clip 2 is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can be submerged in water up to 1 meter (3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before exposing the speaker to water. After exposure to water, dry the speaker thoroughly before charging or using the ports.
2. Cleaning
To clean the speaker, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the finish or internal components.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the speaker is charged. Connect it to a power source using the Micro USB cable.
- Cannot Pair via Bluetooth: Make sure the speaker is in pairing mode (flashing blue LED). Check your device's Bluetooth settings to ensure it's discoverable. If issues persist, try restarting both the speaker and your device.
- No Sound: Check the volume levels on both the speaker and your connected device. Ensure the correct input source (Bluetooth or Aux) is selected.
- Poor Sound Quality: Move the speaker closer to your Bluetooth device to reduce interference. Ensure the speaker is not obstructed.
