1. Introduction
Scrabble is a classic word game designed for 2 to 4 players, where participants form interconnected words on a game board using letter tiles. The primary objective is to achieve the highest score by strategically placing words, utilizing high-value letters, and leveraging bonus squares on the board. This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the Scrabble Original Turkish Edition, suitable for players aged 10 and above, ensuring a clear understanding of game setup, rules, and scoring.
2. Product Components
The Scrabble Original Turkish Edition includes the following items:

3. Setup
- Place the Scrabble game board in the center of the playing area, accessible to all players.
- Each player selects one letter rack.
- Place all 100 letter tiles into the letter bag. Shake the bag thoroughly to mix the tiles.
- To determine the first player, each player draws one tile from the bag. The player who draws the letter closest to 'A' goes first. If two players draw the same letter, they draw again. Return all tiles to the bag and mix them again after determining the first player.
- Each player then draws seven letter tiles from the bag and places them on their rack, ensuring they are hidden from other players.

4. Operating Instructions (How to Play)
- The first player forms a word using two or more of their letter tiles. This word must be placed on the game board so that one of its letters covers the center star square. Words can be formed horizontally or vertically, but not diagonally.
- After placing a word, the player calculates their score for that turn (see Section 5: Scoring) and announces it.
- The player then draws new tiles from the letter bag to replenish their rack to seven tiles.
- Play proceeds clockwise. Subsequent players build upon existing words on the board. This can be done by:
- Adding one or more letters to a word already on the board.
- Placing a word at right angles to a word already on the board. The new word must use one of the letters already on the board or add a letter to it.
- Placing a complete word parallel to an existing word, provided that all horizontally or vertically adjacent letters form complete words.
- All letters played in a single turn must form one complete word, and all letters adjacent to the new word must also form valid words.
- Players have the option to pass their turn, exchange some or all of their tiles (which counts as a turn), or challenge an opponent's word. If a challenged word is found to be invalid, the player who played it removes their tiles and loses their turn. If the word is valid, the challenger loses their next turn.
- The game ends when all letters have been drawn from the bag and one player has used all the letters on their rack, or when all players pass two consecutive turns.

5. Scoring
Scoring in Scrabble is based on the numerical values of the letter tiles and the bonus squares on the board:
- Letter Scores: Each letter tile has a numerical value printed on it. Add the values of all letters used in a word to get its basic score.
- Premium Letter Squares: If a letter is placed on a light blue square, its value is doubled. If placed on a dark blue square, its value is tripled. These multipliers apply only to the individual letter placed on the square.
- Premium Word Squares: If a word covers a pink square, the total score of the word is doubled. If it covers a red square, the total score is tripled. These multipliers apply to the entire word score after any premium letter squares have been calculated.
- Center Star Square: The center star square acts as a double word score for the first word played in the game.
- Bingo Bonus: If a player uses all seven tiles from their rack in a single turn, they receive an additional 50 points (a "Bingo") in addition to the score for the word formed.
The score for each turn is recorded. At the end of the game, the player with the highest total score wins.
6. Maintenance
- Always store the game components in their original box to prevent loss or damage.
- Keep the game board and letter tiles clean and dry. If necessary, gently wipe them with a soft, dry cloth.
- Avoid exposing the game components to direct sunlight, excessive moisture, or extreme temperatures, as this may cause warping or fading.
7. Troubleshooting
- Missing Tiles: If you find tiles are consistently missing, ensure all components are carefully returned to the letter bag and box after each game.
- Disputes over Word Validity: In case of disagreement regarding the validity of a word, refer to an official Scrabble dictionary or a mutually agreed-upon standard dictionary to resolve the challenge.
