3.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove the thermometer from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.

3.2 Battery Installation

The DeltaTrak 11050 thermometer comes with a CR2 battery included and pre-installed. If replacement is needed:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the thermometer.
  2. Use a coin or flat-head screwdriver to gently twist the battery cover counter-clockwise to open.
  3. Insert one (1) CR2 battery, ensuring the correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery cover and twist clockwise to secure it.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on the thermometer, press the POWER button (labeled with a circle and vertical line).
  • To power off, press and hold the POWER button for approximately 3 seconds. The thermometer will also automatically shut off after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.

4.2 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure the thermometer is powered on.
  2. Insert the stainless steel probe into the center or thickest part of the food item, avoiding bone or gristle. For liquids, immerse the probe sufficiently.
  3. Hold the probe steady. The digital display will show the temperature reading, which will stabilize within 2 seconds.
  4. Once the desired temperature is reached, remove the probe from the food.

4.3 Switching Temperature Units (°C/°F)

To switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) temperature scales, locate the °C/°F button on the back of the thermometer and press it once. The display will immediately change units.

4.4 Min/Max Memory Function

The thermometer records the minimum and maximum temperatures measured since the last reset. To view these values:

  • Press the MIN/MAX button on the front of the thermometer. The display will show the minimum recorded temperature.
  • Press the MIN/MAX button again to display the maximum recorded temperature.
  • To clear the Min/Max memory, press and hold the MIN/MAX button for approximately 3 seconds until the display resets.
