Setup

Unboxing and Components

Carefully remove the LightPad PRO1700 from its packaging. Ensure all components are present:

Power Connection

Connect the power adapter to the LightPad PRO1700 and then plug it into a standard electrical outlet. The unit is now ready for operation.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

To power on the LightPad PRO1700, press the power button located on the control panel. Press the button again to turn the unit off.

Adjusting Brightness

The LightPad PRO1700 offers variable brightness settings. Use the brightness control button (often depicted as a sun icon) to adjust the light intensity. A quick tap cycles through preset brightness levels. Press and hold the button to smoothly increase or decrease brightness. The unit will flash to indicate that the settings have been saved.

For maximum brightness, press the lightning bolt icon. This instantly sets the light to its highest intensity (up to 11,000 lux), suitable for shining through thick materials like 300 lb. watercolor paper or heavy fabrics.

Adjusting Color Temperature

The LightPad PRO1700 features adjustable color temperature (3000K-6200K) to optimize visibility for different projects. Use the flame icon for warmer tones and the snowflake icon for cooler tones. Adjusting the color temperature can help highlight specific tonal qualities in your artwork or materials.

Using the Tempered Glass Surface

The LightPad PRO1700 is equipped with a tempered glass cutting surface. This allows for direct cutting with tools like an X-Acto knife without damaging the light box. The edge of the surface is also designed for use with a T-square for precise measurements and alignments.

Maintenance

Cleaning

To clean the surface of your LightPad PRO1700, use the provided cleaning cloth or a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, a small amount of glass cleaner can be applied to the cloth (not directly to the surface) and then wiped clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners or materials that could scratch the tempered glass.

LED Longevity

The LightPad PRO1700 uses long-life LEDs that do not require replacement under normal operating conditions.

Troubleshooting

No Power

  • Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the LightPad PRO1700 and a working electrical outlet.
  • Verify that the power outlet is functional by plugging in another device.

Light Not Adjusting

  • Confirm that the unit is powered on.
  • Try tapping the brightness or color temperature buttons firmly. If holding the button, ensure continuous contact.
