2. Safety Instructions

5. Operating Instructions
The HOB260ECO-400V functions as both a jointer and a planer. Always ensure the machine is in the correct configuration for the desired operation.
5.1. Jointing (Dégauchissage)
Jointing is used to flatten one face and square one edge of a workpiece.
- Configuration: Ensure the planer table is lowered and the jointer tables are in position. The dust extraction flap should be set for jointing.
- Fence Adjustment: Adjust the aluminum fence to the desired angle (90° for squaring, up to 45° for bevels). Secure the fence firmly.
- Depth of Cut: Adjust the infeed table to set the desired depth of cut. The maximum depth of cut for jointing is 5 mm. Start with shallow cuts.
- Operation: Turn on the machine. Place the workpiece on the infeed table, keeping it firmly against the fence. Slowly and steadily feed the workpiece over the cutter block, maintaining even pressure. Use push blocks for short or narrow pieces.
5.2. Planing (Rabotage)
Planing is used to achieve a uniform thickness and parallel faces on a workpiece.
- Configuration: Pivot the jointer tables to switch to planing mode. Position the dust extraction flap for planing.
- Height Adjustment: Use the handwheel to adjust the planer table height to the desired thickness. The planing height range is 6 mm to 195 mm.
- Depth of Cut: The maximum depth of cut for planing is 2.5 mm. Avoid taking excessively deep cuts, especially on wide or hard material.
- Operation: Turn on the machine. The automatic feed system (5.5 m/min) will pull the workpiece through. Guide the workpiece into the machine, ensuring it is flat on the planer table. Do not force the workpiece.
6. Maintenance

- Blade Replacement: The machine is supplied with 3 HSS blades (250 x 30 x 3 mm). Replace dull or damaged blades promptly. Always disconnect power before changing blades. Use a magnetic blade setter for accurate alignment.
