4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The H HOLDPEAK 881C Lux Meter requires one 9V battery for operation. Follow these steps to install the battery:

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the meter.
  2. Use the provided mini screwdriver to unscrew the small screw securing the battery compartment cover.
  3. Remove the cover.
  4. Connect the 9V battery to the battery clip, ensuring correct polarity.
  5. Place the battery into the compartment.
  6. Replace the battery compartment cover and secure it with the screw.

  1. Turn on the meter using the POWER switch.
  2. Remove the protective cap from the photo detector.
  3. Select the desired unit (Lux or FC) using the LUX/FC switch.
  4. Choose an appropriate measurement range using the RANGE switch. If the display shows "OL", the range is too low; select a higher range.
  5. Position the photo detector towards the light source you wish to measure. For best results, ensure the sensor is perpendicular to the light source.
  6. Read the illuminance value on the LCD display.
  7. Use the HOLD function to freeze a reading or PEAK function to capture the maximum value.
  8. When finished, replace the protective cap on the photo detector and turn off the meter.
