Neoperl 1.8 gpm Laminar Stream Cache Aerator User Manual

Model: CCL-0180-ST-P

Brand: Neoperl

1. Product Overview

The Neoperl 1.8 gpm Laminar Stream Cache Aerator is designed to provide a consistent, non-aerated water flow, making it ideal for applications where air introduction into the water stream is undesirable, such as in healthcare facilities.

This aerator is WaterSense certified, contributing to significant water and energy savings. It features a pressure compensating flow controller that maintains a steady flow rate regardless of fluctuations in water pressure, ensuring optimal performance and water conservation.

2. Key Features

  • Water Efficiency: 1.8 gallons per minute (gpm) flow rate, WaterSense certified, designed to save water, energy, and money.
  • Laminar Stream: Produces a clear, non-aerated water stream, preventing the mixing of air into the water, which is beneficial for specific environments like healthcare settings.
  • Pressure Compensating: Maintains a consistent flow rate even with varying water pressures.
  • Standard Cache Fit: Specifically designed to fit standard size (M24 x 1 threads) cache faucets.

3. Setup and Installation

This aerator is designed for easy installation into compatible cache faucets. Ensure your faucet is a standard size (M24 x 1 threads) cache type before proceeding.

3.1. Compatibility Check

  • Verify your faucet uses a cache aerator system, where the aerator is hidden within the faucet spout.
  • Confirm the thread size is M24 x 1. This aerator is specifically for standard size cache faucets. Other sizes (junior, tiny junior, tom thumb) require different aerators.
  • Note for Delta Faucet Models: For specific Delta models (e.g., 2551, 3551, 4551, 119/319/419, 155/156, 4380), a Junior size aerator and Junior Size Wrench may be required instead of this standard size. This standard aerator is not compatible with these specific Delta models.

3.2. Installation Steps

  1. Turn off Water Supply: It is recommended to turn off the water supply to the faucet before beginning installation to prevent accidental leaks.
  2. Remove Old Aerator: If an existing cache aerator is present, use an appropriate cache aerator key or tool to unscrew and remove it from the faucet spout.
  3. Clean Faucet Spout: Clean any debris or mineral buildup from the inside of the faucet spout where the aerator sits.
  4. Insert New Aerator: Carefully insert the Neoperl 1.8 gpm Laminar Stream Cache Aerator into the faucet spout. Ensure the blue sealing ring is properly seated.
  5. Tighten Aerator: Use the cache aerator key or tool to gently tighten the aerator until it is snug. Do not overtighten, as this can damage the aerator or faucet threads.
  6. Restore Water Supply: Turn the water supply back on and check for any leaks around the aerator.

4. Operation

Once properly installed, the Neoperl 1.8 gpm Laminar Stream Cache Aerator operates automatically with the flow of water. Simply turn on your faucet as usual to experience the consistent, non-splashing laminar stream. The pressure compensating feature ensures that the flow rate remains stable even if your household water pressure fluctuates.

5. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your aerator, periodic maintenance is recommended:

  • Cleaning: If you notice a reduction in flow or an irregular stream, the aerator may be partially clogged with sediment or mineral deposits. Remove the aerator using a cache aerator key.
  • Descaling: Soak the removed aerator in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water for 30 minutes to an hour to dissolve mineral buildup.
  • Rinse and Reinstall: After soaking, rinse the aerator thoroughly under running water to remove any loosened debris. Reinstall the aerator following the installation steps.

6. Troubleshooting
