Setup

1. Unpacking and Initial Cleaning

• Remove all packaging materials from the machine.

2. Filling the Water Tank

• Remove the water tank from the back of the machine.
• Fill the tank with fresh, potable water up to the MAX line. Do not use sparkling water or other liquids.
• Place the water tank back onto the machine, ensuring it is securely seated.

3. Power Connection

• Place the machine on a stable, flat surface.
• Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet.

4. First Use Cycle

• Turn on the machine using the power button. It will begin to heat up.
• Once heated, place a large container under the coffee spout.
• Press the Lungo button (or a similar large coffee button) without inserting a capsule. This will flush the internal system with hot water. Repeat this process 2-3 times.

Operating Instructions

Brewing Coffee (Espresso, Lungo)

1. Ensure the water tank is filled and the machine is powered on and heated (indicator light stable).
2. Lift the capsule insertion lever and insert one Lavazza A Modo Mio capsule into the compartment. Close the lever firmly.
3. Place your cup on the drip tray.
4. Select your desired coffee type (e.g., Espresso, Lungo) from the touch panel. The machine will begin brewing.
5. The machine will automatically stop when the selected volume is dispensed.
6. After brewing, lift the lever to eject the used capsule into the internal drawer.

Preparing Milk-Based Beverages (Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato)

1. Pour cold milk into the milk frother jug, observing the MIN/MAX fill lines for your desired beverage.
2. Place the jug on the designated spot on the machine.
3. Insert a coffee capsule as described above.
4. Select your desired milk-based beverage (e.g., Cappuccino, Latte Macchiato) from the touch panel. The machine will first froth the milk, then dispense the coffee.
5. Once complete, carefully remove the jug and pour the frothed milk and coffee into your serving cup.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Regular cleaning ensures optimal performance and longevity of your machine.

Daily Cleaning

• Drip Tray: Empty and rinse the drip tray and grid daily.
• Used Capsule Drawer: Empty the used capsule drawer daily and rinse it.
• Milk Frother Jug: Immediately after each use, rinse the milk frother jug and whisk with warm water. For thorough cleaning, disassemble the whisk and wash all parts with warm soapy water.
• Exterior: Wipe the machine's exterior with a soft, damp cloth.

Descaling

The machine will indicate when descaling is required (refer to your machine's specific indicator light pattern in the full manual). Use a descaling solution recommended by Lavazza and follow the instructions provided with the descaler. Typically, the process involves:

1. Empty the water tank and fill it with the descaling solution mixed with water as per the descaler's instructions.
2. Place a large container under the coffee spout.
3. Initiate the descaling cycle (refer to your machine's specific button combination or menu option).
4. Once the descaling cycle is complete, rinse the water tank thoroughly and fill it with fresh water.
5. Run 2-3 full water cycles (without capsules) to rinse the machine.
