2. Safety Information

Please read all instructions carefully before installation and operation. Failure to follow these instructions may result in damage to the product or injury.

  • Always turn off the water supply before installing, removing, or performing maintenance on the nozzle.
  • Do not use tools that may damage the nozzle's threads or body during installation. Hand-tightening is often sufficient.
  • Keep out of reach of children.
  • Ensure proper water pressure is maintained as specified in the 'Specifications' section to prevent damage or inefficient operation.

3. Setup and Installation

The Toro Precision Series Spray Nozzle O-12-FP is designed for easy installation onto compatible spray heads.

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate the main water shut-off valve for your irrigation system and turn it off completely.
  2. Remove Old Nozzle (if applicable): Carefully unscrew the existing nozzle from the spray head. Be gentle to avoid damaging the spray head's threads.
  3. Inspect Spray Head: Check the spray head for any debris or damage. Clean if necessary.
  4. Install New Nozzle: Screw the Toro Precision Series Spray Nozzle O-12-FP onto the spray head. Ensure it is seated properly and hand-tighten until snug. Do not overtighten.
  5. Adjust Arc and Radius (if applicable): Some spray heads allow for arc and radius adjustments. Refer to your spray head's manual for specific instructions. The Precision Series nozzle itself provides a fixed spray pattern.
  6. Turn on Water Supply: Slowly turn the water supply back on and check for leaks.

4. Operating Instructions

The Toro Precision Series Spray Nozzle O-12-FP operates by utilizing patented H0 Chip Technology to create high-frequency oscillating streams, ensuring uniform water distribution. It is also designed with an Optional Pressure Compensating Device (PCD) to maintain optimal performance even when inlet pressure rises to 40 psi and higher.

  • Water Pressure: For optimal performance, ensure your irrigation system operates within the recommended pressure range. The nozzle is designed to compensate for pressure fluctuations up to 40 psi and higher.
  • Coverage: Observe the spray pattern to ensure adequate coverage of the desired area. Adjust the spray head's position or angle if necessary.
  • Run Time: Due to its lower flow rate and high efficiency, you may need to adjust your irrigation system's run times to achieve the desired watering depth.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your Toro Precision Series Spray Nozzle.

  1. Filter Cleaning: The nozzle includes a filter. Periodically, turn off the water supply, unscrew the nozzle, and remove the filter. Rinse the filter under running water to remove any accumulated debris. Reinsert the clean filter and reattach the nozzle.
  2. Nozzle Inspection: Visually inspect the nozzle for any cracks, blockages, or wear. Replace the nozzle if significant damage is observed.
  3. Debris Removal: If the spray pattern becomes irregular, turn off the water, remove the nozzle, and gently clear any obstructions from the nozzle opening using a soft brush or compressed air. Avoid using sharp objects that could damage the nozzle.
