5. Setup and Installation
The Mr. Heater F299730 can be installed as a wall-mounted unit or as a freestanding unit. Wall mounting hardware is included. Feet for floor mounting are not included and must be purchased separately if desired.
5.1 Location Requirements

6. Operating Instructions
Your heater features a battery-operated electronic ignition and a built-in adjustable thermostat for convenient operation.
6.1 Installing the AAA Battery
Locate the battery compartment, typically near the ignition button. Insert one AAA battery (included) ensuring correct polarity.

6.2 Lighting Instructions
- Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
- Turn the control knob to the PILOT position.
- Press and hold the control knob in while simultaneously pressing the electronic ignition button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites.
- Continue to hold the control knob in for 30-60 seconds after the pilot flame ignites to allow the thermocouple to heat up. Release the knob slowly. If the pilot flame extinguishes, repeat steps 2-4.
- Once the pilot is lit, turn the control knob to your desired heat setting (1-5). The main burner will ignite.

6.3 Adjusting Heat Output
The control knob allows you to adjust the heat output from setting 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest). The built-in thermostat will regulate the room temperature by cycling the main burner on and off.
6.4 Shutting Down the Heater
