Maintenance
Cleaning Your Radio
To maintain optimal performance, clean your radio regularly. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe down the exterior. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure all port covers are securely closed before cleaning or exposing to water.
Battery Care
- Always use the provided NiMH battery packs or compatible AA alkaline batteries.
- For long-term storage, remove the batteries from the radio.
- Avoid exposing batteries to extreme temperatures.
Waterproofing Integrity
While the T600 is IP67 waterproof, it is crucial to ensure all seals and covers (especially the battery compartment and charging port) are properly closed and free of debris before exposing the radio to water. Failure to do so may compromise its waterproof capabilities.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Radio does not power on. | Low or no battery charge; improperly installed batteries. | Charge batteries fully. Ensure batteries are correctly installed and the battery cover is securely fastened. |
| Cannot communicate with other radios. | Radios are on different channels or privacy codes; out of range; obstructions. | Verify both radios are set to the same channel and privacy code. Move closer to the other radio. Reduce obstructions. |
| Audio is muffled or unclear. | Water in speaker/microphone area; pressure changes (e.g., altitude). | Allow radio to dry completely if exposed to water. If due to pressure, briefly open the battery compartment to equalize pressure, then re-seal securely. |
| Charging port shows rust/corrosion. | Water ingress due to open/improperly sealed charging port. | Ensure the rubber charging port cover is always securely closed when not charging. If corrosion is severe, contact customer support. |
