Maintenance
Cleaning
To maintain your keyboard's performance and appearance, regularly clean the keycaps and the area beneath them. An open board design makes cleaning easier. Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust and debris. For stubborn grime, gently wipe keycaps with a damp cloth and mild cleaner, ensuring no liquid enters the switches.
Replacing Switches and Keycaps
The GMMK's hot-swappable design allows for easy replacement of switches and keycaps. Use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps. Be gentle to avoid scratching the keycaps, especially those with a glossy finish on the sides. The metal switch puller is used to remove the switches by pressing in the tabs on the top and bottom of each switch. When inserting new switches, ensure the pins are straight and align correctly with the sockets to prevent bending. It is recommended to test each switch after replacement by pressing it to ensure the LED lights up, confirming proper installation before reattaching keycaps.

Troubleshooting
Keyboard Not Responding
- Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer.
- Try connecting the keyboard to a different USB port or another computer to rule out port or system issues.
- Perform a factory reset by holding Fn + Esc for 5 seconds.
RGB Lighting Issues
- If RGB lights are not functioning or appear dim, ensure the keyboard is properly powered.
- Verify that the correct RGB mode is selected using the function key shortcuts.
- For advanced customization or persistent issues, download and install the latest GMMK Software from the Glorious website.
- Note that the keyboard's RGB lighting is designed to turn off when the computer is powered down.
Difficulty Removing Switches/Keycaps
- Ensure you are using the correct keycap and switch pullers provided with the keyboard.
- For keycaps, apply even pressure and pull straight up.
- For switches, ensure the switch puller firmly grips both tabs on the switch housing before pulling. Some switches, especially those on the numpad or larger keys, may require careful maneuvering due to stabilizer placement.
