The Pro'sKit MT-4616 is a portable, high-precision meter designed to measure ambient temperature, relative humidity, wet bulb temperature, and dew point temperature. 2. Safety Information
Please read and understand all safety information before operating this meter. Failure to follow these instructions may result in injury or damage to the device.
- Do not operate the meter in environments with explosive gas, vapor, or dust.
- Avoid exposing the meter to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight, or high humidity for extended periods.
- Do not attempt to open or modify the meter. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Remove batteries if the meter will not be used for a long period to prevent leakage.
- Keep the meter away from strong electromagnetic fields.
3. Components and Display
Familiarize yourself with the meter's components and display indicators:
- Sensor Head: Located at the top, for temperature and humidity detection.
- LCD Display: Shows readings, units, and various indicators (HOLD, MAX/MIN/AVG, MEM, Low Battery).
- Power Button (①): Turns the meter ON/OFF.
- HOLD Button (H): Freezes the current reading on the display.
- MIN/MAX Button: Toggles between minimum, maximum, and average readings.
- DP/WB Button: Switches between Dew Point and Wet Bulb temperature display.
- MEM Button: Stores the current reading into memory.
- READ Button: Recalls stored data from memory.
- °C/°F Button: Selects temperature unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
- Backlight Button (☀): Activates/deactivates the display backlight.
4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
- Open the cover by sliding or unscrewing it (refer to the diagram if available).
- Insert the required batteries (e.g., 9V battery) according to the polarity indicators (+/-).
- Replace the battery compartment cover securely.
4.2 Initial Power On
Press the Power button (①) to turn on the meter. The display will illuminate, and the meter will begin taking measurements.
5. Operation
5.1 Power On/Off
- To turn ON: Press the Power button (①).
- To turn OFF: Press and hold the Power button (①) for approximately 2 seconds. The meter also features an auto power-off function after a period of inactivity to conserve battery life.
5.2 Taking Measurements
Once powered on, the meter will automatically display ambient temperature and relative humidity. Ensure the sensor head is exposed to the environment you wish to measure.
5.3 Unit Selection (°C/°F)
Press the °C/°F button to toggle the temperature unit between Celsius and Fahrenheit.
5.4 Dew Point and Wet Bulb Temperature
Press the DP/WB button to cycle through the display of Dew Point temperature and Wet Bulb temperature. The corresponding indicator (DEW POINT or WET BULB) will appear on the LCD.
5.5 Data Hold
Press the HOLD button (H) to freeze the current readings on the display. Press it again to release the hold function and resume live measurements.
5.6 MIN/MAX/AVG Function
Press the MIN/MAX button repeatedly to cycle through the minimum, maximum, and average recorded values since the meter was powered on or the function was reset. The corresponding indicator (MIN, MAX, AVG) will be displayed.
5.7 Data Memory (Store/Recall)
- To Store Data: Press the MEM button to save the current readings (temperature, humidity, dew point/wet bulb) into memory. The MEM indicator will flash, and a memory location number will be displayed. The meter can store up to 99 readings.
- To Recall Data: Press the READ button to view stored data. Use the MIN/MAX buttons to navigate through the stored memory locations.
- To Clear Data: Refer to the full user manual for specific instructions on clearing memory, as this often involves a combination of button presses.
5.8 Backlight
Press the Backlight button (☀) to turn the display backlight ON or OFF for improved visibility in low-light conditions.
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
Wipe the meter's casing with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquid enters the sensor head or other openings.
6.2 Battery Replacement
When the low battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries promptly to ensure accurate readings. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 4.1.
6.3 Storage
Store the meter in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. If storing for an extended period, remove the batteries.
