5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Preparation

Before installation, ensure you have the following components (not included):

  • DC12V Power Supply (Recommended: 12V 10A 120W)
  • Compatible RGBW LED Controller (e.g., Tuya Zigbee, Bluetooth APP, WiFi Alexa Google Home, RF Remote controllers)

5.2 Cutting and Linking

The LED strip is flexible and can be cut to your desired length. Cut points are located every 3 LEDs. Use the designated cut marks on the strip. The strip features 5-Pin connectors on both ends (one male, one female) to support end-to-end connection for extending the length.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

To clean the LED strip, gently wipe it with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the strip is powered off and disconnected from the power supply before cleaning.

7.2 Inspection

Periodically inspect the LED strip and its connections for any signs of wear, damage, or loose wiring. Address any issues promptly to ensure safe and optimal performance.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 No Light

  • Check Power Supply: Ensure the DC12V power supply is correctly connected and functioning.
  • Check Controller Connection: Verify that the LED strip is securely connected to the RGBW controller.
  • Verify Wiring: Confirm that the 5-Pin connector wires are correctly matched to the controller's output (PIN Order: +12V-G-R-W-B). Incorrect polarity can prevent the strip from lighting up.

8.2 Incorrect Colors or Missing Colors

  • Check Wiring: This is often caused by incorrect wiring of the G (Green) and R (Red) pins. Double-check that the green wire from the strip is connected to the green output on the controller, and the red wire to the red output.
  • Controller Settings: Ensure your RGBW controller is set to the correct output mode for RGBW strips.

8.3 Dim or Flickering Lights

  • Insufficient Power: Ensure your DC12V power supply has sufficient wattage (Recommended: 120W) for the entire length of the LED strip.
  • Voltage Drop: For very long runs, voltage drop can occur. Consider powering the strip from both ends or adding power injection points if experiencing dimming towards the end of the strip.
  • Loose Connections: Check all connections for tightness.

9. Warranty Information

This BTF-LIGHTING LED Tape Light comes with a one-year warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers manufacturing defects under normal use. Please retain your proof of purchase for warranty claims. The warranty does not cover damage resulting from improper installation, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or exposure to conditions beyond the product's specifications (e.g., water damage for IP30 products).
